In the era of NIL you have to be an exceptionally bad coach to be as terrible as we are with the amount of money we have invested. You can truly build whatever team you want. Get the right coach and system in here and I think we can turn it around quickly with the amount of money we can blow on a team. Hopefully dolson has built up a nice list the last two years so we don’t end up with Woodson part 2 when Brad turns us down again.

The clip above kind of reminded me of the Jay Wright Villanova teams. They also played at a snails pace but utilized a ton of pump fakes and great ball movement to get an open shot every time down the court

Haha they’re 320 in pace this year. I think it’s just what I want to see personally but honestly if he came here and won I wouldn’t care how we played. But yes that is some beautiful ball movement.

Idk maybe I’m jaded by Archie. He did in fact win at a smaller school. It’s been 10 years now of slow disgusting basketball. Candidates will pop up throughout the year. I really liked Schertz last year from his style. I think recruiting takes care of itself with NIL so we need someone that plays open free flowing basketball with a lot of 3s because you’re at a disadvantage if you don’t play like that.

They play super slow and don’t take many 3s but they win. Probably better than what we have now but I think we can do better.

The most frustrating thing is this team has so much talent. A good coach could do so much with what we have. At least last year I could see the talent deficiencies.

Nothing I’ve seen so far gives me confidence that we’ll be anything more than average despite being undoubtedly more talented this year

This is stupid. I feel like one of the most important parts of being a good leader is surrounding yourself with smart people and being able to take constructive criticism. Hopefully this doesn’t burn the bridge with Adam because he’s going to be an asset to any program. I’m tired of the Mike Woodson era and it’s only been one game this season. Hopefully Scott is able to whatever is needed at the end of the season.

Which is kind of silly if we don’t play fast since Ballo is definitely used to it being at Arizona the last two years and them being a top 25 tempo team. Half of their offense is the big man sprinting down the court for an early dump off and layup

Rice, Karlyle, Galloway, Mgbako, Ballo is probably my ideal closing lineup. Hopefully Reneau works on his shooting. I'm so tired of our feed the post every play offense.

Injuries obviously happen but knock on wood because Ballo hasn't missed a game in 3 years. Goode was the backup "4" for the Illini last year. I think he'd be fine there on the court next to Ballo.
