  1. I'd feel even worse for Archie sending him back out there in front of our fans next year. It'll be a bloodbath and I like him way too much as a person to want him to go through that.
  2. Would there be a more fitting end to the Archie Miller era than a 10 minute scoring drought to end his tenure?
  3. Wouldn't be a Hoosiers basketball game the last four years without that scoring drought
  4. We're on our regularly scheduled four minute scoring drought.
  5. Nice to see us playing faster this game
  6. 1. Stevens 2. Drew 3a/3b. Oats/Musselman 4. Beilein 5. Mark Pope Just based off of style of play and personality I think these are my top 6. I've looked a lot at Kenpom efficiency numbers the last few weeks to try and judge who is a good candidate. Mark Pope is someone that really stood out the last two years when going through that. If we had done that with Archie and compared it with say Holtmann I would've given Holtmann the edge pretty easily. I'm tired of this grind it out basketball that we play. All of the guys on my list have shown the ability to coach modern offenses and are adaptable to the players they have. There's some projection with Oats but I really do think he'll be one of the best coaches in college basketball going forward. He's extremely smart and adaptable and he has the personality needed to succeed at this job. I don't think Beard is realistic because he already makes so much at Tech. I know Matta is on a lot of people's lists but it's just been so long since he's had a good team that he feels like a big risk. Mack is a better version of Archie but a lot of the things we complain about Archie's system are things that he also employs. Just look at a Louisville forum and it looks exactly like ours did in year 2 and 3 of Archie.
  7. I feel the same way especially after looking up Louisville's stats for this year. Feels like going from one Archie to another if we go with Mack.
  8. You really know how to get a guy's hopes up. I might explode from happiness if we actually managed to get Brad.
  9. I remember when Dolson was hired, there were rumors that he was a pushover and he'd just hire Alford if we fired Archie. Does anyone know where those rumors came from or if there's any semblance of truth to them?
  10. I think most would be happy if we actually got one of those seven. I'm still a little leery on Mack after reading more about him and his system. I can't handle more Archie ball. I'd add Oats to it even if his extension makes it less likely. I really hope whoever is our next coach plays a more exciting brand of basketball.
  11. I guess I’m just not a fan of this style especially when it seems like the system doesn’t value the 3 ball like it should. It’s the most important shot in the game. UVA plays very slow but they shoot and make a high percentage of 3s which is why they always have such high offensive efficiency numbers. The games are such a grind to get through and I’m sure recruits don’t like it either especially when the NBA is all about pace and space now.
  12. Watching Louisville play right now reminds me of us and that's not a good thing. I decided to look at their stats this year. Somehow averaging even less points than us and shoot even worse from 3 at 31%. They only take 16 threes a game which is also less than we take. Their tempo on kenpom is 293 and they play the pack line as well. Mack's really benefited from the ACC being down and he was left a pretty good roster when he took over. Think I'd rather have Drew, Oats, or Musselman tbh just based off of watching those teams play this year. Edit: Decided to head on over to a Louisville forum and it sounds eerily similar to ours. Lots of fans arguing over whether or not he's the answer. Most acknowledge that his style of play is not fun to watch. Concerns over recruiting top players to a system that's such a grind. Sounds way too similar to Archie for my liking especially when we'd have to pay him 5 million a year.
  13. I would love to ask Archie why he changed the offense from our first year to this crowded mess that we run now. I was watching some highlights from that first year and the spacing and pace we played at was so much better. We weren't constantly looking over at Archie about what play to run like we do now and there was way more fluidity to the play. We were still a terrible shooting team and didn't shoot enough 3s but I remember thinking that whenever Archie got some of his recruits in to that offense it'd be pretty good. I'm just confused why he decided to change it so drastically to what we see now.
  14. Sounds like you could be the Hoosiers coach for the next 30 years with that young age.
  15. He's still only 42. Maybe he goes back to a mid major program and has a lot of success with some adjustments to his system. He'd probably get another shot at coaching at big time program.
  16. Please be true. Fresh start would be good for both sides.
  17. Give me Scott Drew. I'm of the opinion the last two years are more indicative of what he'll be going forward since he switched his defensive system up. The tourney is such a crap shoot. All it takes is getting hot once. Virginia can lose to a 16 seed and then go and win the title the next year. Having great regular season teams with Kenpom numbers capable of winning a title is much more important to me than having one final four run. If you have those great regular season teams, you'll make a run eventually.
  18. I disagree a little. Archie’s offensive system is not conducive to success in modern basketball. He doesn’t value three point shooting enough and I know i saw concerns about that from his time at Dayton. Most of the best teams are really good shooting teams. The last four years we consistently have at least two people that are terrible three point shooters. Archie’s system is all about drawing fouls. Drawing fouls is helpful but when it’s the only focus it leads to clogged paints and a lot of the bad offense that we’ve seen the last few years. The game is trending to four or five players on the court that can all shoot but Archie usually plays at least two that won’t even look at the basket outside of five feet. The inability to develop that stretch four has really hurt us.
  19. These teams are really fun to watch. Lots of shots being hit these first 10 minutes.
  20. Saw somewhere that Archie is like 2-22 vs Michigan, OSU, Purdue, and Wisky. You can’t have a guaranteed loss to a third of the league and keep your job here.
  21. Should’ve hired Chris Mack four years ago.
  22. Give me Drew out of those. Young enough that he could be here 20 years. I think the last two years are what he’ll be like going forward so I’d have the most faith in him giving us a shot at a title.
  23. Just keep Archie if Enfield is the best we do. Only reason USC is good this year is because they hired Evan Mobley’s dad as coach and the PAC 12 is terrible.
  24. But for two week at least it will be the most excitement we’ve had in 10 years.
  25. I’m ready to be hurt like Billy Donovan all over again
