  1. I think we've talked about Cooley before. Just look up his records and I don't think he's the answer
  2. If Dolson thinks he's the answer for the next 25 years, then Oats' buyout shouldn't stop him. The basketball program being good again will make a whole lot more than that 30 million.
  3. If I'm a recruit and watch them play, that's the system I want to be in. Oats is going to be great for the next 25 years.
  4. I love everything about Oats. I know some think he hasn't proven enough. Not only do they play modern basketball on offense, they have the number one defense on Kenpom. He's extremely fiery on the sidelines and his personality would shine here. If we can't get Brad, I'd be ecstatic to get Oats. I think I've watched 75% of Bama's games this year just because they're so fun to watch. Sometimes you just get a feeling with coaches and I get that with him.
  5. Bama getting off to a quick 8-0 start vs LSU. When they're hot from 3, they're one of the most fun teams to watch in the country.
  6. I do also like to hear that we may have possibly checked in on Oats. I think he’ll be a star and that would be mean his buyout wouldn’t stop Dolson from getting the best possible candidate whoever he may think that is.
  7. It seems like coaching searches are the best time to be a Hoosiers fan these days. I can feel myself slowly getting excited again over the longest of long shots. One day we will have real basketball to be excited over.
  8. If we're going to fire Archie I hope it's earlier even if the next coach isn't announced for a while. Let Archie and the rest of the coaches try and find new jobs. We'd be doing a disservice to them by keeping them longer.
  9. Hopefully his list just includes peoples' whose name rhymes with Rad.
  10. Could this have been why Lander didn’t play today? I don’t remember hearing anything about an injury for him so I found it odd he didn’t get any minutes.
  11. Hopefully the next coach can manage to go better than 2-22 against Purdue, OSU, UM, and Wisky and not lose 6 of 7 to powerhouses like Rutgers. I know it's a tall task
  12. How are we going to track planes if everyone is already here????
  13. I don't care really at this point. Let the new coach get his own players in. He can try and convince Lander to stay if he wants him. I'd worry Lander would transfer if Archie stays. I wouldn't want to play in this offense
  14. I'd feel even worse for Archie sending him back out there in front of our fans next year. It'll be a bloodbath and I like him way too much as a person to want him to go through that.
  15. Would there be a more fitting end to the Archie Miller era than a 10 minute scoring drought to end his tenure?
  16. Wouldn't be a Hoosiers basketball game the last four years without that scoring drought
  17. We're on our regularly scheduled four minute scoring drought.
  18. Nice to see us playing faster this game
  19. 1. Stevens 2. Drew 3a/3b. Oats/Musselman 4. Beilein 5. Mark Pope Just based off of style of play and personality I think these are my top 6. I've looked a lot at Kenpom efficiency numbers the last few weeks to try and judge who is a good candidate. Mark Pope is someone that really stood out the last two years when going through that. If we had done that with Archie and compared it with say Holtmann I would've given Holtmann the edge pretty easily. I'm tired of this grind it out basketball that we play. All of the guys on my list have shown the ability to coach modern offenses and are adaptable to the players they have. There's some projection with Oats but I really do think he'll be one of the best coaches in college basketball going forward. He's extremely smart and adaptable and he has the personality needed to succeed at this job. I don't think Beard is realistic because he already makes so much at Tech. I know Matta is on a lot of people's lists but it's just been so long since he's had a good team that he feels like a big risk. Mack is a better version of Archie but a lot of the things we complain about Archie's system are things that he also employs. Just look at a Louisville forum and it looks exactly like ours did in year 2 and 3 of Archie.
  20. I feel the same way especially after looking up Louisville's stats for this year. Feels like going from one Archie to another if we go with Mack.
  21. You really know how to get a guy's hopes up. I might explode from happiness if we actually managed to get Brad.
  22. I remember when Dolson was hired, there were rumors that he was a pushover and he'd just hire Alford if we fired Archie. Does anyone know where those rumors came from or if there's any semblance of truth to them?
  23. I think most would be happy if we actually got one of those seven. I'm still a little leery on Mack after reading more about him and his system. I can't handle more Archie ball. I'd add Oats to it even if his extension makes it less likely. I really hope whoever is our next coach plays a more exciting brand of basketball.
  24. I guess I’m just not a fan of this style especially when it seems like the system doesn’t value the 3 ball like it should. It’s the most important shot in the game. UVA plays very slow but they shoot and make a high percentage of 3s which is why they always have such high offensive efficiency numbers. The games are such a grind to get through and I’m sure recruits don’t like it either especially when the NBA is all about pace and space now.
  25. Watching Louisville play right now reminds me of us and that's not a good thing. I decided to look at their stats this year. Somehow averaging even less points than us and shoot even worse from 3 at 31%. They only take 16 threes a game which is also less than we take. Their tempo on kenpom is 293 and they play the pack line as well. Mack's really benefited from the ACC being down and he was left a pretty good roster when he took over. Think I'd rather have Drew, Oats, or Musselman tbh just based off of watching those teams play this year. Edit: Decided to head on over to a Louisville forum and it sounds eerily similar to ours. Lots of fans arguing over whether or not he's the answer. Most acknowledge that his style of play is not fun to watch. Concerns over recruiting top players to a system that's such a grind. Sounds way too similar to Archie for my liking especially when we'd have to pay him 5 million a year.
