  1. I'm not expecting a step backwards per se. I'm just setting my expectations a little different than others. Like I wouldn't be surprised if our beloved Hoosiers start the season 2-3 or 1-4 or finish the season 6-6. But then again I also wouldn't be surprised if they start 5-0 or 4-1 or finish the season with 8 to 10 wins. I would be completely surprised if they have a losing season and don't go bowling. That last sentence is probably the feeling for most if not all of us IUFB faithful. And actually typing out that sentence fully explains the progress the program is going with CTA running this thing. It's awesome to be talking this way about IUFB. LEO
  2. If we're being honest with ourselves there was absolutely nothing normal about the entire season last year. Yet another reminder to myself. I guess I'm just being cautiously optimistic. The culture is there and last year's wins help move this train forward and I'm ecstatic to be riding on it. LEO
  3. While I enjoy seeing the respect IUFB is getting (ESPN's Way-Too-Early Rankings have them at 10) with these preseason rankings I have to remind myself that Ole Miss beat them in the bowl game and PSU was a preseason top 10 last year. Hopefully they continue from last year's success and don't lay an egg like PSU did last year.
  4. Thanks for sharing. There's an uptick in DEs entering the portal. https://247sports.com/college/indiana/Season/2021-Football/TransferPortal/ So are some of these transfers also playing DT or OLB as well? I'm not sure I fully understand the position because Alfred Bryant is listed as an OLB but last year he played DE. And C.J. Person is listed as a DT but I recall seeing him playing DE. I suppose they're just defensive line positions in general? While I truly hate to see these cats enter their names in the portal I do like the amount of depth IUFB has at those positions. CTA doing his thang. Defense.
  5. One tough schedule 09/04 - @ Iowa 09/11 - Idaho 09/18 - Cincinnati 09/25 - @ Western Kentucky 10/02 - @ PSU 10/16 - MSU 10/23 - OSU 10/30 - @ Maryland 11/06 - @ Michigan 11/13 - Rutgers 11/20 - Minnesota 11/27 - @ Bucket Game Can easily end up starting off 1-4. Glad to see they got Cincinnati home.
  6. So let me get this straight, there are three McCullough's on Bloomington South's football team?
  7. Awesome news! I hope I get to see him play down in the Evansville area. I know he's in Castle and Ev. North's sectional.
  8. I agree for the most part. Bottom line, it's all on the new coaching staff to improve this team. Because the last coaching staff coached them into mediocre, at best.
  9. Looks like a 4 hour drive is considered "closer to home" as he's transferring to Xavier. His major is accounting so I'm really surprised he didn't end up at either IU or UM. Maybe IU didn't want him? Or maybe he didn't want to transfer to a B1G? Who knows.
  10. Zach Carpenter, OG transfer from Michigan.
  11. In my opinion Nunge would be a nice addition. He's been battling injuries his college career but when healthy he's definitely a stretch 4/5 that can board. Coach Woody would work wonders for him, think Steve Novak. However I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at UE. Also what is considered "closer to home" for him? I think his sister was or is on scholarship at ND. Is MSU or Michigan close? Is just a few hours drive close to home? Is just a few minutes close to home? Regardless what he decides I truly wish him the best. That young man has been through a lot.
  12. No. Not even close. Lol.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if Nunge ends up at UE. I know folks are saying Power 5 but he'd literally be the closest to home with the MVC mid major coached by an ex Butler/Iowa coach. Having said that, Coach Woody could mold this kid into a heck of a shooter that would ultimately get him paid. He's already got the touch. And he's got a knack at the boards. His injuries situation is a bit worrisome but personally I think he'd be worth the risk.
  14. One of the most important things I heard throughout his media day yesterday was something on the lines that he didn't have an ego when it comes to basketball. He's always learning and wants to surround himself with people that will help him. Hope this works. Congrats Coach Woodson.
  15. A complete FA market. National https://247sports.com/Season/2021-Football/TransferPortal/ IUFB https://247sports.com/college/indiana/Season/2021-Football/TransferPortal/
  16. Thanks for sharing. Awesome read.
  17. Honestly, I just want a coach that wins. I don't care who gets hired.
  18. Gotcha, well, I guess he just adjusts his coaching based on player personnel?
  19. I thought he was known for getting the most of defensive players? I could be wrong. He has a ring as an assistant coach with the Pistons.
