IUFB Offseason/Transfer Portal News
Lebowski replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
So that frees up $330k. CTA will have to find another guy to replace him, just like he did to replace Mark Hagen. Best of luck to Coach Peoples. Hope he succeeds and have positive memories while coaching at IUFB. -

IUFB Offseason/Transfer Portal News
Lebowski replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Throughout the entire history of IUFB I don't know of any OC that has accomplished a level of recruitment of what you asking Bell to do. I could be wrong though. I mean what QB has ever transferred into IUFB from schools you're talking about here? With the exception of Baylor and the current 4* transfer out of Incarnate Word, QBs that commit, transfer out or into those schools are typically 4-5* recruits. They commit to those schools with high expectations at a level us IUFB faithful have never experienced. Like Heisman thoughts and what not. Well, to be fair, we did experience a taste of it last season and the start of 2021. And maybe a brief stint in the late 80s. But not at a consistent level. I'm not sure where I said I was putting all my eggs in one basket with one position but whatever. I understand what you're saying about getting a desirable QB out of the portal but most of us are saying IUFB is what it is and looking at this whole process through a different perspective might be something of value. -

Yep. IUFB. Maybe. You and I just don't know if that's possible. -

To piggyback off of this, looking at the current list of QBs available in the transfer portal, I'd be happy with any of them committing to IUFB. I mean, I'd prefer a high value proven transfer but I just don't think that's in the cards. And those on the current list can't do any worse than our current situation. For me it's about adding depth and if that OL doesn't improve it really doesn't matter who's starting QB. -

I wondered the same. So I punched him in the class calculator on 247 and according to it, it wouldn't have made any bump in rank but it would have jumped up the pts from 218.82 to 224.49. Food for thought: If you look at the rankings on both Rivals and 247 schools like LSU, Clemson, Oklahoma and Stanford are ranked below IUFB. So I'm thinking this current ranking will change because the recruiting process isn't finished and I'm sure IUFB will be moving around. Hopefully up and not down. Also, the transfer portal is a constant revolving door and that also changes a team's 'ranking' by the start of the season. But regardless it's a solid recruiting class nonetheless.

I mean, is that a bad thing? We're talking IUFB here. Also, it's fair to say you know as well as I do that we don't know how both McCulley and Tuttle will develop under Bell. I'm not holding my breath but I'm also not throwing in the towel. In my experience people react differently to a change. Especially at the leadership level. I'm going to sit back and see it all play out instead of bash the situation. But that's just me. -
Yet? They got until February and the transfer portal kind of changes everything. CTA also said that's a priority so we'll see.

(2022) OT Bray Lynch to Indiana

IUFB and his team finished ranked 2nd on the USA Today Super 25. -
My thoughts exactly. Low pick though.

Picked up two CBs on 247 today. A flip from Hale McGranahan and one from Steve Wiltfong.

Not taking anything away from McCullough but I'd be surprised if he's contributing early. Not that he won't it's just he'll have some competition at the position. When I saw him play I couldn't help but think he'll have to fill out a bit aka bulk up and read the field much better to see the field next year. Just my opinion and I could be wrong and honestly, I hope I am. For me personally I was more pleased about the season IUFB had and a little disappointed in the class based on the year they had. But that's just me. And I fully agree with you regarding HS kids making the transition to college. Sometimes you get that freak who can hit the field on day one, but that's rare.

Not to pee in everyone's cheerios but this doesn't mean doo doo if the staff can't develop players. Hopefully that happens. But yeah man, I'm a happy camper with this class. Really wished a couple more OL signed on though.

2022 General Recruiting Thread (Football)
Lebowski replied to Leo's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
I typically take class rankings with a grain of salt. But I believe this is the highest ranked class in the school's history. I could be wrong though. Development of these recruits is what really matters in the grand scheme of things. -
Edge - JH Tevis from Cal to IUFB College Stats

Recent commitments that moved IUFB up to 1st in Transfer Rankings. 12/12/2021 - RB Josh Henderson from UNC. College Stats 12/11/2021 - RB Shaun Shivers from Auburn. Looks like he might be a return guy as well. College Stats It looks like CTA is going the Mel Tucker route to add depth to the team. It would be nice to see some OL transfer in as well. I hope it works out.

If you look at the current 'Transfer Rankings' (whatever that means), IUFB is ranked 3rd. Behind USF and Michigan St. So this makes me think CTA might be trying the Mel Tucker method?
-
Best of luck to him. I hope he's playing Sundays.
