If that's the case then there's still a high risk that a team tells Blackmon that they will draft him in the second round or sign him as an undrafted free agent a la Troy and Yogi. Shooting is always a valuable commodity, regardless of defensive capabilities. As much as I love RoJo, I don't see that type of guarantee being made to him.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
goonaha replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2017/04/29/humble-and-hungry-keion-brooks-jr-drawing-nationwide-interest/101038750/ Indiana, and new coach Archie Miller, may have an ace in the hole. Brooks’ father, Keion Brooks Sr., played at Wright State from 1995-99. In his final two seasons, his coach was Ed Schilling. The same Schilling who was recently hired at Indiana by Miller off the UCLA staff. Brooks Sr. called Schilling’s hiring at Indiana “a big move” as it relates to his son’s recruitment. On April 19, Miller extended an offer to Brooks Jr. “They are getting a gift with (Schilling) coming in,” Brooks Sr. said of Indiana. “We’d been talking to when he was at UCLA recruiting Junior from out there. With him coming to Indiana, it makes it a little easier. Any time you have a relationship with somebody, you definitely look at things a little differently. You want somebody you can trust so it’s not a guessing thing.” Brooks Sr., who also starred at Fort Wayne North Side, was recruited to Wright State by longtime coach Ralph Underhill. He played just one season for Underhill, who was fired in 1996. Schilling replaced interim coach Jim Brown before the 1997-98 season. Wright State won only 19 games combined in Schilling’s first two seasons, but the 6-3 Brooks Sr. was a star, averaging 20.7 points as a senior. “One of the biggest things is he’s a really intense guy,” Brooks Sr. said of Schilling. “He’s about playing hard all the time. He’s great with fundamentals. Every possession, he’s trying to win that possession. He’ll be a good teacher.” Brooks Jr. said Miller’s message to him is to, “Come and start something new at Indiana.” “They are going through a transition with the coaching change so he wants me to come and be a part of something new,” Brooks Jr. said. (2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

http://www.scout.com/college/basketball/recruiting/story/1774626-romeo-langford-shines-front-coaches … Article from Evan Daniels. Mentions Archie watching Romeo today. Romeo doesn't really say anything new in the interview. -
People also spoke condescendingly about Troy when he left early and he has done okay for himself one year in. I will support Thomas's decision and hope that he can find success in the league. I cringe when some on here are overly critical of IU players who have played hard for IU and are simply trying to make money playing basketball.

He is very very skinny. But the highlight reels are impressive and demonstrate some serious skill. Get TJ Leaf vibes. -

What? So how did you evaluate Oladipo and Hayward? Did you not watch them and decide that they seemed like smart, high potential players? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Worth noting that Izzo is also heavily recruiting Romeo Weems, who is also a 5 star 2019 SF and is from Michigan. I wouldn't be opposed to MSU locking down their in state stud and IU locking down Brooks. Everyone goes home happy. -

Coaches Miller and Schilling at New Albany -
Maybe, or it could mean that Archie relented on that issue. Of the three recruits, I think Moore could benefit the most physically from a redshirt year. However, I think that decision is dependent on whether or not TB comes back. If TB is gone I think Moore will get minutes. If he doesn't, I think TB, DD, CH, JM, JS and FM are sufficient front court depth.
