  1. Per Jon Rothstein, Frank Martin has hired Chuck Martin as an assistant at South Carolina.
  2. Doesn't say anything new in this Bossi interview, but it's pretty clear that we are one of the leaders in his recruitment. https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/five-standing-out-for-three-star-forward-race-thompson “Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa State, Baylor, and Marquette,” he said. “Those are the main ones off the top of my head that have stood out.” Minnesota: “Their style would definitely fit me, but we are going to see how it goes. “I like them a lot, it is the hometown team, of course. It is just like any other school though, I just want to make the best decision.” Iowa State: “It is a good school. It definitely fits my style of play with getting the ball and being able to push it. That definitely stands out about that school.” Baylor: “It is nice; they definitely have good coaches that develop its players. They have a couple of guys going to the draft this year. They always have a big team, so that would definitely benefit me, being able to play a smaller position at the 3 or the 4 and make my chances greater of playing pro basketball.” Indiana: “They definitely have told me that they want me a lot. They have made me a priority. They have one of the best cultures in college basketball, some of the best fans; it is definitely a good school.” As posted earlier, he is still visiting Indiana and Michigan in June. I think this recruitment is gaining in importance if Swider is going to be a Duke lean.
  3. I just graduated so I have a few tips. 1.) Do not do a large group for tickets. (8 was the max last year). When you have that many people, they tend to give you mostly GA tickets, and GA is a horrible experience now that it includes the balcony. I had friends in other ticket groups that would get much better seats (multiple behind the basket games a season) because they only had a group of 4 or less. With large groups, everybody's points are averaged together, so if you have members that don't have good attendance at other events, you get screwed pretty easily. 2.) Download the Crimson Guard rewards app. I remain dubious about how much they take into account these points, but it's still probably worth it. Go to every home soccer game (and other sports if you're so inclined, but soccer is the most fun in my opinion) in the fall to help elevate your standing for basketball points. 3.) Find a friend that is a RA or in the Athletic Training program. They get really good seats.
  4. R-E-L-A-X. It's June. They've been recruiting for not quite two months.
  5. http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/high-school-basketball/2017/06/09/It-s-getting-closer-to-decision-time-for-Robby-Carmody/stories/201706090011 Per his father, Robby Carmody is officially visiting Purdue, Michigan, and Notre Dame this summer. He "might look at going to Maryland and Indiana, too." Apparently prioritizing the first three because they have been recruiting him the longest, along with Pitt and Penn State where he has already visited. Hopefully Archie and staff, despite jumping in late, can convince him to visit. Feel like this kid will be a great four year Big Ten player.
  6. Just lock the thread. IU isn't recruiting him.
  7. Per Goodman, we now have an unexpected marquee non conference home game: Duke will play at Indiana in this year’s Big Ten-ACC Challenge, source told ESPN. Matchups scheduled to be released later today. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. Why do you post here if it's just a "useless board"?
  9. Why do you feel the need to just blatantly lie? "ranked as one of the top basketball players in the state -2018 ( one of the top combo guards in the country)". Somebody literally just posted as 247 profile. 9th ranked in Indiana is not "one of the top". And "combo guard" is just a loophole.
  10. Georgetown and Boston College are also players in '17 for Carter. I am guessing that Moretti will commit somewhere pretty quickly after this US tour is over. Carter has indicated that he'll try to take as much time as possible this summer to decide. Plus he's still playing AAU and probably wants to finish out Peach Jam before enrolling anywhere.

  13. Why's that? Sounds like we're recruiting him hard. From the beginning, everyone was saying that Duke was going to be the biggest challenge anyways. Well, looks like they still are. I'm sure he would be intrigued by playing in a backcourt with Romeo too though... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. @JonRothstein: Indiana will host South Florida as part of its 2017-18 non-conference schedule, per a source. Part of MTE event. #iubb USF were the worst team in the American Athletic last year. Again, I think it was always going to be difficult to add good non conference match ups in a coaching change year.
  15. Thompson says he is taking unofficial visits to Michigan and Indiana in June. Did not specify dates.
  16. He's from Saginaw, Michigan, but I agree you would think he's worth a look. Perhaps there's some red flags with such an extended recruitment that CAM doesn't want to deal with. Not sure. Or maybe CAM did not want to recruit Justin Smith back to IU and then immediately recruit over him. Wouldn't be a great look.
  17. Isn't that semantics? Because you don't transfer to become a walk on somewhere else since scholarships are no longer involved. So "quitting" in Vijay's case is essentially the same. And kids transfer from schools midseason all the time. I personally know kids who were recruited to play sports (soccer and baseball) at small schools that quickly figured out that they weren't going to enjoy the experience. They quit, and came to IU for school only at the semester. This seems somewhat similar.
  18. 1.) Nahziah is going to turn out to be a 4 star recruit. He's worth recruiting on his skills alone and has a great relationship with Archie from Dayton. 2.) I don't think anyone is going to pick IU because Jay-Z might sit courtside a couple games a year if Nahziah comes. Just like I don't think anyone committed to UK because Drake makes occasional appearances or references to them. It's all just positive attention for the program and being seen as a destination school. I don't see any harm in it.
  19. If he knew he wanted to come to IU for a degree, why it would make sense to keep playing there? I don't think it appears any different than what a conventional transfer does, and they leave at the semester all the time.
  20. Who knows, maybe one of the twins Beyonce is carrying is a boy? Could turn out to be a stud class of 2035 recruit.
  21. Corey Evans at Rivals posted a recruiting Q&A today. He considers Louisville and Indiana to be the favorites to land Romeo, but never to count out Duke and Kentucky (that can honestly be said for any recruiting battle ever to be fair). Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. Recently Indiana jumped into the mix with an offer, and Archie Miller and his staff continue to make a good impression on Hurt. "They saw me a lot because at Dayton they were recruiting my AAU teammate McKinley Wright, and they say they love how I play." explained Hurt. "They said they will be at my games in July, and I know they have a great program." --------- Seems like IU's recruitment of Hurt is still in the early stages. Hopefully CAM and Ostrom can make up some ground. Hurt talked favorably about Kansas, Minnesota (where his brother plays), and UNC. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. Hit a game winning 3 in EYBL today. Those Watford clutch genes...
  24. I'd be willing to wager a lot of money on IU finishing better than both Ohio State and Illinois.
  25. Is there some kind of story about this? I don't see anything about this proposed event in the media.
