You might be right on the national level, but that doesn't explain why IU struggles in conference. They should at least do well in the B1G among the other loser programs and consistently beat the Northwesterns and Iowas of the world. I'd be content with regularly being the tallest midget.

Sounds harsh.....but yes. For example, I don't care about Ballo as a human being. I don't wish him ill, but he was a one -year mercenary rent a player that will be forgotten in 15mins. So are (fill in the blank with almost everyone else on the roster) Sheesh, Reneau spent 3yrs at "University of Indiana" and still feels like temp. The fabric of the game has been torn by several factors. We are now at the place where they are no longer "college kids', they are highly paid and most have 0 loyalty. So my position is "I don't care about your hopes and dreams or your personal issues, just shut-up and win, and if you don't, I'm going to savage you online, whatever your name is." I hate that it's come to this, but as Seinfeld said years ago, I am cheering for the jersey, not the players anymore. I don't care about them anymore than they care about me.

I'm happy for the individuals. But the whole system will have to correct at some point. It's the Wild West early days now, but will have to find an equilibrium. Or maybe just completely collapse. One other reason, that is quickly fading to obsolescence, is 'development.' It would be nice to have 2-3 guys (especially with 15 slots) that are growing & improving for the future. I know, that is a quaint idea in the age of instant gratification/portalization.
