  1. Completely dumb team. Talent level was not even close and we were by far more talented team but have no sense of direction hence a loss. This program will not improve until a coaching change is made. I thought we would fall off next year but its happened this year instead. Reminds me of with Coach Jack when a team lost some of its talent from previous year after a pretty good season but still had a decent team with very good players Jamie Braun and Jori Davis as upperclassman and leaders (much like Cahill and Buss) and was very mediocre and around .500. Than they lost Braun after that year and than then Davis the next year and it kept getting so much worse each year until a change was finally made. That's where this is headed I'm afraid until we make a coaching change. Coach Moren actually recruits light years better than Coach Jack but if you can't mold the team and talent together it doesn't matter if your getting 3-5 star players instead of 0-2 star players especially if some of them transfer because they don't want to play for you.
  2. Watching the last 2 minutes online and this team looks so much like it is coached by Crean. It has talent but is completely undisciplined. They turn the ball over twice in critical situations on possessions near end and did not D up leading to several open 3's and layups. This team has talent but may not even win as many as the men's team since they are well coached and disciplined now despite a lack of talent. To OT we go after Buss misses a FT that could of won it. Buss is usually good at being a senior leader but that was a bad moment for her.
  3. Weren't we suppose to play UNC next year? At least that's what this article said: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2016/09/06/iu-schedules-hoops-trips-new-york-2017-2018/89904258/ No article so far has seemed to acknowledge we have switched opponents. It's probably better for us as I assume WVU is closer to our level and it will probably be a better game against a still good team as we continue to rebuild but it definitely looks like we were suppose to play UNC originally.
  4. Dunbar's firing makes me very sad. It's deserved and I knew it was probably coming but since I know her personally and really like her its hard to see happen.
  5. Exactly where I am at and could not agree more. Main reason I have poured so much more time and effort into watching IU Soccer than ever before (although I have always followed fairly closely for most part).
  6. I said this a few weeks ago and got jumped on saying it was not true. Look I generally a positive person but also realistic and to me the direction of this program is very questionable. I am not quite on the fire Moren bandwagon quite yet but do worry if we are having this much trouble with Buss and Cahill still on team how we will be in future. Having Patberg, Penn and Berger in future who are very good will probably not offset Buss and Cahill's loss so at best we will probably be on this average level in future and at worst fall to bottom of Big Ten which is possible.
  7. Oh yeah forgot about Patberg who is a former 5 star and probably really good being from ND. Wise at Pitt was just a 3 and about on the level of most of IU's recruits recently. Our recruiting has absolutely gotten better (mostly mid level 3 star players besides Patberg, Penn and Berger). I know ratings don't mean everything (Buss was a 3 but everyone said she was way underrated and would be great which I have not heard about most of our other mid 3 stars) but they certainly are a guide and they are a slight step below other Big Ten team. With that said they are light years ahead of the Coach Jack days who had almost every recruit as a 0 Star mid to low major prospect (yes this is 100% correct). I am not dumping on the program but I am very much wait and see and worry what will happen when Buss and Cahill leave. There is a bit of instability with all the transfers but it might be all right. We will see.
  8. Chattanooga like WKU is the best team in their conference and made NCAA tourney last year. Coached by former OSU coach Jim Foster who I have no idea why he was fired and the Mocs are the beneficiaries and have been to tourney every year since he has been the coach. I said that this was a really tough schedule on Friday after the win and I stand by that. Now with that said this is a game you should absolutely win and I still am not sold on the direction of this program when Buss and Cahil leave after this year. We do have a couple 5 star recruits the last couple years (Penn this year and Berger next) but I am still not sold on Moren at the head of the program and a lot of the talent while better is still a touch below Big Ten standards.
  9. This is why it is so important to have a senior leader who is an elite player. Buss literally took over the game the last minute and put the team on her back with the 3 to tie than the layup to win. We were also helped by extreme stupidity when WKU gave one of their fouls to give when the shot clock was under 15 with about 30 sec left to reset the shot clock and give us the last attempt.
  10. I was about to say something about how can we compete in Big Ten if struggling with this WKU team? Than I looked and realized they are actually a really good team coming off a 27-7 season and have already beat a ranked Mizzou team and playing reasonably well against an elite Notre Dame team (not to mention we lost to them last year and were still decent). I should of used my own trick which especially works at the Mid-Major level that generally if a school is strong in Football or Basketball it usually spreads across other sports and WKU has had a pretty good run in their conference in football last few years. I'll leave analysis to others as I don't follow Women's Basketball quite like Baseball and Soccer but I am fairly familiar and see IU has an extremely tough non conference schedule.
  11. I take back what I said about Seton Hall looking like a Crean team. They certainly have some Crean tendencies but they actually adjusted at the half and made the changes they needed which is not something Crean did well. With all that said this rebuild is going to take a bit longer than we thought but this is the first game you saw the team battle somewhat a provide a glimmer of hope.
  12. Anyone feel like Seton Hall looks exactly like a Crean coached team? Between their sloppiness, inability to finish at the basket and forgetting to constantly throw the ball inside to Delgado as much as they should this is everything we as fans jumped on Crean for. Let's hope they have the same issue Crean had with halftime adjustments. With that said very proud of the way IU fought and clawed that half and feel a bit better now about where the season could head.
  13. We are the only team to lose so far but tons of the other Big Ten teams have had closer calls than they should at home. PSU OSU, Maryland and Minny had similarly uncomfortable barely double digit wins against Campbell, Radford, Stony Brook and USC Upstate respectively. Illinois taken to wire by UT Martin, Rutgers taken to wire by Central Connecticut, Northwestern taken to wire by Loyola Maryland and Nebraska taken to wire by Eastern Illinois. It's going to be a long year and hopefully we can improve but we are not the only team struggling mightily with teams we shouldn't.
  14. Oh I don't think they're connected at all really in this case. I just am saying to hear them say it out of their mouths instead of having it typed on here hits home for me more than ever that Darius may be going elsewhere
  15. I have remained quiet on this but Assembly Call guys think the timing of the announcement is not a great sign for IU. Not sure if they are hearing anything but actual faces attached to a thought means more to me than what people on here are posting.
  16. I know its been mentioned already but 6 Game mini packs and single game tickets are available for only games students are on break. Other games sold out via season tickets and can only be purchased on secondary market.
  17. There it is. First shutout since 1993.
  18. Worth noting: IU's last shutout was in 93 in Mallory Era. I know this team is terrible but given how many terrible teams we've played and not shutout this would be noteworthy.
  19. I don't want you to disclose the name of the assistant because that is not fair but was the unnamed assistant someone on Curt Miller's staff or was he an assistant for a different sport at IU?
  20. What connection do you have to the department to know this? I am not doubting you just curious. I've heard about the first part and that he was forced to resign for some kind of inappropriate behavior involving a male assistant but what you describe in the second part is completely new to me and not anything I have seen written anywhere.
  21. Jeremy Price predicted correctly: Charleston Southern. He's already asked on twitter what we wins. LOL In all seriousness perfect scenario and exactly who we should of scheduled to replace one easy win with another.
  22. I don't want to jump the gun but there is a chance Hurricane Jose make landfall this weekend in Georgia not to far from Statesboro where Georgia Southern is (no one seems to know what it will do and it could move harmlessly out to sea rendering this post moot) . It also looks like it will be a little weaker storm but is there a chance we could be cancelled another week due to an opponent being located near where a hurricane causes issues? Something to keep an eye on.
  23. Per Greg Raekstraw Bethune Cookman scheduled to play at Florida Atlantic this week and likely to be called off. Bethune Cookman has mutual bye week on Oct 7 so assuming their game this weekend is cancelled that may be another option for an easy win potentially if Charleston Southern declines.
  24. FCS Charleston Southern was cancelled for hurricane last weekend and bye on same weekend as us per Jeremy Price. Pay them whatever it takes and bring them here for an easy win.
  25. I hope its an FCS team for two reasons. First is personal and I am on vacation that weekend and cannot watch. Also FIU was scheduled as an easy win so I would like another easy win to replace it (obviously FIU is FBS but they are bad so its pretty similar) not a Georgia Tech or any other tougher game that we could lose.
