Just glad to see that Academic fraud university, with fake non-existent classes for years with multiple coaches, gets a number one seed. It is amazing how the media does not even say one word about this huge scandel anymore. Apprently the transgressions of their non-student athletes, professors and coaches are less egregious than major violations like phone calls and bumper stickers. Really do not get this.

Here we go.(and you are usually so positive:) ).....yes he should be fired if we lose to the Sagarin rated 8th team in the country, a team with a RPI of 12 vs our RPI of 24, etc. That loss would be totally inexplicable. Much, much worse than the Cleveland State and Pepperdine losses. Just a really, really bad loss. Probably the worst loss of all-time IU tournament history. Just trying to help you write your post if we lose :)

Selection Sunday on CBS 5:30 ET (+ Chat)
DChoosier replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It was our opening game but not the BT opening round (ie not like number 1 seed IU losing to last seed Rutgers). That one game overrides a BT season , with half of games on the road, in which we win the conference by TWO games? BS. That being said, I do not think it makes any difference if we are a 5 or 4 seed. -

He also cannot even pronounce Yogi's last name correctly. Charles and Kenny should be muzzled. -

Why, why, why do they have the NBA guys get involved with the NCAA tourney? They do not follow college all year and then babble nonsense in March. -
2025??? They were discussing the past few years and the vaunted movement would be seniors now.

I hated wondering who had to be run out etc., year after year. (which refreshingly not an issue this year). Story and Williams, however, were not run out. On the other side of the coin the "movement" really hurt. Many across the country thought it was a great class filled with Indiana kids but it only led to one decent (great) player. This may be the best top to bottom "team" he has put together. Pre-season I thought we would be in a world of hurt any game in which TB got into foul trouble but the depth provided by MB, OG and JM has been a great surprise. Got to give credit where credit is due.

Blackmon Transferring?

I do not think he is anywhere remotely near being in the same category of those guys. -
Blackmon Transferring?
DChoosier replied to Yogi's Picnic Basket's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
What would Blackmon leaving have to do with keeping players under control? Is something else going on? -
. It is pretty much just us. I looked it up and besides IU the favorite has won every single game in the past 6 years. Pretty amazing stat.

Does not make that much of a difference. I just took a look at the yearly Scout team rankings. Maybe Crean has a bit of a cumulative difference but it is not like it is a IU-PSU difference etc. Izzo is one of best in country my point is just that some, not saying you, imply that Izzo does it with no talent, He has recruited plenty.

What finish will make YOU happy with IU Basketball this March?
DChoosier replied to Trish's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agree. Would really like those match-ups. -
I do not think Crean has more tools but agree Izzo is better. Would say Izzo is better than nearly every coach there is.
-
Not to be picky but in last 5 years MSU was above IU twice in recruiting ratings and IU was above MSU three times (including the Bowel Movement year). The year, the 6th, MSU is above IU.

[quote name="JSHoosier" post="256297" timestamp="1457734111"]This is a serious question, and not intending to draw out the "same old JS" crap, but what's his postseason record over his entire career without Wade and Zeller?[/quotte Crean has plenty of faults but I never get the "what would a coaches record be Without their best player" questions. We ran the table in '87. What do think the post season record would have been Without Alford? We ran the table in '81. What do you think our record would have been without Thomas? Izzo is great. How good would MSU be without Valentine (we already know, they were not great ) Etc etc etc

What finish will make YOU happy with IU Basketball this March?
DChoosier replied to Trish's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Partially depends on matchups and health of Johnson, Morgan and Hartman. We have done better than I expected this year as I thought MD and maybe PU and/or MSU would finish above us. After 10 games there is no way I thought we would end the regular season winning out the most difficult portion of the season. Nor did I foresee, but was glad to see, the reduction in turnovers, better defense, more "good Troy", Improvement in Morgan and OG. etc etc. During the season many aspects of the team Improved more than I have ever seen with Crean ( he even claps less :) ). That being said.....really want to get out of the weekend and into the sweet 16. That would be "OK" but not satisfying. -
They were wearing "we have three burger boys but suck and are tired of watching Alford's no defense kid dribbling around and just want the year to be over" looks on their faces.
-
You are correct...HS careers are nowhere comparable.
-
Things can change, he seems like a really good kid but my past IU comparison of JB at this point in his career is..... Bracey Wright.

Yogi has evolved a great deal during his senior season. The light has turned on and he now has that quality of being able to "will" the team to win on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. Having "the guy" that can put a team on his shoulders, without doing too much, and driving others to do well is a talent not a lot of players have. Instead of just "playing" the game you now really get a sense that he wants to make sure we do all we can to win. His replacement, whomever that might be, might score as much (I doubt it) but it will still probably not mean as much as what Yogi brings NOW, after 3 1/2 seasons, to the team. It is fun to watch.
