  1. Yes they did. Looked like 6 year old soccer players swarming around the ball. No spacing.
  2. I don’t feel any better coming out of an Archie timeout than a Crean timeout. Never thought I would think that.
  3. And totally unforced......of course.
  4. Try not to think of Morgan and Romeo being gone.
  5. It is so frustrating that we have had multiple games in which we “had a chance” even after playing horribly half the game. The talent is there (not to win at Duke but certainly to win these home games). This is a “what could be” year.
  6. 2 points in 5 minutes in the second half. At least we are consistent :(
  7. So this exact same starting five started the first and second halves in the same crappy fashion. What a surprise. The half time adjustments are amazing.
  8. Same 5. No surprise.
  9. 2 years of training would get him within a year of learning the three year defense :)
  10. We will see. Archie tends to start the same 5 in the second half no matter what.
  11. And one of those was a desperation three at the end of the shot clock. Just baffling.
  12. Possession after possession after possession neither Morgan or Romeo touch the ball or do not receive it in a place in which they can shoot.
  13. He can jump over a small building but eats leather like few others.
  14. I’m convinced Smith has incriminating photos of Archie.
  15. A couple of years ago we beat 2 of the final four teams (KS and UNC) and did not make the tourney. I’ll bet that has not happened often.
  16. 5 minutes in and Romeo and Morgan each have shot once and each was a last second three (misses).
  17. We definitely need both.
  18. It depends on the grad transfer. Should we have brought in someone that averaged 5 points a game in a much less competitive conference? No. Especially when his points per game decreased each of the three years he attended St Mary’s. I do think, however, we might need a grad transfer (if a talented one is available) next year as I cringe to think of this team next year without Romeo and Morgan. Maybe Hunter can pick up somewhat for Romeo and TJD is surely talented but is a freshman TJD better than a senior Morgan? Maybe but I would not bet on it.
  19. Noah was also very young and did not have a good feel as to how to post up. I remember games in which Dicky V would keep yelling “get him the ball” but Noah was standing sideways, did not seal the defender and did not “present” himself with good angles. His age is one of the reasons that it took him a while to develop in the NBA. Not implying Crean was blameless but Noah had a ways to go.
  20. Agree 100%. The Marquette game in particular was a thing of beauty. They way they moved the ball that game really made me excited for the season.
  21. I really admire De’Ron and how he has dealt with, and fought through, all of the injuries. He and Al often seem to be two of the players that care the most and give consistent effort (even though they are dreaded Crean players...sarcasm intended). I hope he comes back next year and has an injury free season. I have somewhat of an understanding what Archie is trying to do defensively but his offensive “system” still eludes me. Even if De’Ron does not fit Archies offense, and I am not sure that is the case, I think posters are crazy to think we don’t need his size next year against MSU, MD, PU, Wiscy, IA etc.
  22. We might be in TODAY but we are tracking towards 6-14 or 7-13 in the conference which will not cut it. Hopefully we will go on a surprising run but I’m not holding my breath.
  23. I also got a little excited and/or thought we might have turned a corner after MSU. The fact is, however, that we did not turn the corner but rather the MSU game was an outlier. The results from the last 8 games back that up.
  24. As much as I want to be in the tourney.....a .4-8 conference team, including 2-3 at HOME, does not cut it.
