ESPN has to be rethinking the Game Day decision. Purdont v. The Good Guys is by all counts afar superior game. Rivalry game against two top 25 teams with true conference implications in one of the most historic venues in all of sports. The atmosphere should be unbelievable. Or...#14 UK v. Texas A & M in College Station?

Agreed. I think OG can play 4, but with a bit of polish could put in significant minutes at the 3. Love to see DD and Bryant together. Would be great if we could get a big via grad transfer to beef up front court. If Newkirk isn't our starting PG, why is he using a scholly this year? No one seems excited about this guy. What is the book on this guy? If not a starter, why not just offer a player in 2015. Would give us more depth this year and allow him to bulk up and develop to produce in 2016-2017.

Agreed. I'd like to get illinoy as well. This gives us 3 wins. Maryland and Iowa were penciled in as losses for many prognosticators I'm assuming. The damn penn state game sticks in my craw and probably hurts us more than any other loss on selection Sunday. With all the other losses, we could claim early we were a different team, but the penn state loss throws that assertion into question. I'm not forgetting Wisky, but the way they are playing that loss is looking better and better.

I suspect you are correct. I just have never been impressed with Howard. He was a tremendous athlete with a great physical presence. He never really seem to improve or learn anything at all regarding the game of basketball. I guess I let my personal feelings for the player cloud my judgment as to his inclusion with the Celtics. With that being said, I still think that Horford is the best fit for the team.

Horford is the only one who makes sense. IMHO. So, I like the Cs, but anything to make Stevens look our way is preferable. Also, re: recruiting. I think having someone with Brad Stevens clout does wonders, but you still need to show love and interest to these recruits. Perhaps you pair Stevens will a phenomenal head recruiter who manages the day-to-day and does the heavy lifting.

Troy needs to play to his strengths, i.e. back cuts, baseline plays, some plays from the elbow. I think Troy thrives if the game is simplified for him. With his athleticism, he should be grabbing a significant amount of rebounds. Be an average defender. If he just did these things, he starts and is 2nd Team All B1G next year easy. He Gets way more money after next year with any appreciable growth/maturity. OG appears to have an intuitive sense for the game. I love how he rebounds and defends. He stays in front of his defender and on the ground until necessary. Nice athleticism. Still needs some polish, but all the tools are there. He plays controlled and mostly within himself. Aside, NZ needs to just gather himself, make sure his feet are set, square his shoulders and shoot the 3. More movement=less accurate. Can he take 5-7 shots like this within flow of offense? 6-12 points from NZ within the flow is acceptable with the occasional game where he is "feelin it". Avg. 8.5-10 pts per game? If this team defends and plays to its strengths offensively, we are arguably the best team in the B1G. Not quite yet, but let's focus on Penn state and see, if Uncle Mo can come a callin' during this difficult stretch.

To be honest, I wasn't sure about Newkirk. I don't really know that much about his game. I just thought he was a true PG. Rojo isn't getting hardly any play at the 1. I haven't really seen much that would lead me to believe that his skill set transfers over to true point guard. Troy has injured his stock this year with inconsistent play and his propensity for TOs. He would be best served to stay another year, if he can grow and learn in the off season. If he "gets it", he would be bordering on a lottery pick. This is a HUGE if BTW. If he can't, he might as well play for pay somewhere. If so, he might want to update his passport because he is a very late 2nd rounder at very best and this is probably a stretch.

I've been pretty down on CTC for quite some time, but he does appear to have made some changes and learned from his mistakes. I'm still reserving judgment, but want to give measured props to CTC at this point. Also, kudos to our frosh, but let's forego any one and done talk. TB is the only possibility in the group and I truly believe he would benefit from another year, if for no other reason than maturity/socialization. He can also use work on his lateral movement both on and off ball D. He's improved in this area and I expect to see further improvement as the year progresses.If he gets lottery pick $, I suppose he has to pull the trigger. I think he stays and cashes in after his sophomore year as a top 10 pick.

Whoever won the prediction thread should play the lottery.
