Bracketology and Team Resumes
RaceToTheTop replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I’m still just a touch nervous about bud stealers. It seems that most bracketoligists have the same line in the sand drawn — in some order, IU, Oklahoma, San Diego state, Xavier and Ohio Stste in. The order is different in different bracketologist’s eyes but Xavier and Ohio state seemed to be the last two in a bulk of them. Some disagreement on the order among IU, SD State, and Oklahoma. Feel pretty good if there are one or two bid stealers, start to get nervous after that. A win over Oregon could solidify it to where bid stealers don’t matter. -

Oklahoma 76, Texas 72. Big road win for Oklahoma. Very damaging loss for Texas given their spot on the bubble. -

Two missed free throws by Oklahoma. Texas ball, 1.8 seconds left, Oklahoma up 3. -

Oklahoma up 73-69, just over a minute left. IMO it's a game Texas really needs....would drop them to 17-14 and only way to get to 4 over would be to win two conference tournament games. -

Unfortunately for North Carolina, they will have to win two games in the ACC tournament before they would get to play Louisville, Clemson or Duke. The loss today pushed them down to the 5 seed and Wake Forest is the 4 and gets the double bye. So the Tar Heels will start by playing one of the teams in the bottom half of the conference and then play Wake Forest. The likely third round opponent would be Duke. Three teams tied at 13-7 with Wake Forest getting the 4, UNC the 5, and SMU the 6. UNC probably would have been better off getting the 6 seed because they would have just needed to win one game and then faced Clemson. Beating Duke might end up being the key for UNC to get the tournament. -

I don’t think UNC is in. 1-10 in quad one games and have a quad 3 loss. -

Thanks. I do think that Boise State is going to have trouble winning games in the MVC tourney. ;) -

I would think A 10, American, and MWC. MWC has quite a few bubble teams right now and it's hard to say who's in and who's out. -

Minnesota plays Rutgers and assuming that USC loses to UCLA tonight, there is going to be a five way tie at 7-13. Regardless of whether MInnesota or Rutgers wins, the odd team out -- missing the Big Ten Tournament -- would be Nebraska. So if USC loses tonight, the winner of the Nebraska/Iowa game is in the BTT, the loser is out. -

Which of the following do you think are still in even if they lose their conference tournament? MVC: Drake A 10: VCU MWC: New Mexico, Utah State, Boise State, San Diego State ---------- The biggest potential bid stealers IMO come from those conferences + The American conference if Memphis doesn't win the conference tournament. Isn't there also one less auto bid this year due to the Pac 12 going away? -

Do you think 11 with a bye or 11 in first four? -

We were 11 in a lot of projections. But I think the win bumps us ahead of a couple of others plus puts us more solidly ahead of some that we were below. I don't think a loss to open the Big Ten Tournament would keep us out unless there were a ton of bid stealers. Currently I'd say after the win we are a 10 and in the last four byes. -
Minutes per game for the year (in games that players played in): Ballo 29.2 (30 games) Rice 27.5 (31 games) Galloway 27.4 (31 games) Goode 26.5 (31 games) Mgbako 25.3 (31 games) Reneau 23.2 (25 games) Leal 21.3 (24 games) Carlyle 16.6 (24 games) Tucker 16.6 (23 games) Hatton 6.5 (18 games) By the end of the year it was an eight man rotation with Carlyle getting mostly spot minutes. I would expect that's the rotation you'll see in the BTT and in the NCAA (assuming).
