What I see:
-- defenseless receiver
-- hit with crown of helmet
-- defender didn't launch himself though.
Don't know how they will rule. Also don't know if the fact the ball was tipped plays a part.
Texas in field goal range at the 2 minute warning, Arizona State with just two time outs.
If Texas doesn't get a first down and kicks the field goal, could be looking at Arizona State down three with one minute left and no time outs.
Ultimately I couldn't care less why players improve or a coaching scheme works whether it is the head coach or staff he hires around him. There are plenty of bad X and O's head coaches that succeed because they surround themselves with people in the know and LISTEN to them. I would not put Woodson in that camp.
Exactly what summer camps between his freshman and sophomore year of college are you referring to? The difference between Ware at Oregon and Indiana wasn't just 'summer camps'. And Ware had more freedom at Oregon in terms of shot selection -- a full 30% of his shots were from three.
Woody sucks as a coach but I don't think you can argue that TJD and Ware didn't greatly improve under him.
We know that IU had the incident three years ago prior to the Northwestern game and that there had been a game prior where Xavier Johnson had pulled something similar. Been rumors this year about players being out late and now a confirmed one with Ballo.
It's not that I'm against disciplining players but the fact is that when you see the head coach not putting the time in it is a learned behavior.
The Hammond Civic Center is a very old venue but definitely not a rec center type of venue. Very large seating capacity that has hosted WWE events. Seating capacity of 4,500. From videos I saw it did look like they played some games in Whiting’s gym which is much smaller.
Hoping that Ballo plays. I understand sitting him last game for obviously not being focused on what he should have been but the truth is on the court he is one of our most engaged players. If we are going to sit people for not being focused on the right things then Woodson shouldn't show up.
@Uspshoosier
If you go to the NCAA NET rankings, there is a separate column for 'WAB' but it gives a record. For instance, IU's WAB on the NCAA NET site is 9-0. Maryland's, though is 9-1. Any idea what those mean? It seems to be different than the WAB that is put on the team sheets.
I did read up on the WAB calculation that the NCAA uses (not the wins/losses one which I have no clue about) and it is EXACTLY what I was doing with my WAR rating. For instance, if a team played another and the expectation was that the last at large bid team in the tournament would win that game 30% of the time then winning the game would net the team a WAB of +0.70 while a loss would net them a -0.30. The only difference would be in how they calculate those percentages and how I did.
I believe the Big Ten is now 4-1 head-to-head against the SEC in postseason this year.
Ohio State (7-2 in the Big Ten) 45, Tennessee (6-2 in the SEC) 17
Missouri (5-3 in the SEC) 27, Iowa (6-3 in the Big Ten) 24
USC (4-5 in the Big Ten) 35, Texas A&M (5-3 in the SEC) 31
Michigan (5-4 in the Big Ten) 19, Alabama (5-3 in the SEC) 13
Illinois (6-3 in the Big Ten) 21, South Carolina (5-3 in the SEC) 17
Yep, rewatching the latest kerfuffle I know what Bielema was complaining about. There was no reason for South Carolina to have forty guys huddled up on the field near the injured Illini player.
I think I know what Bielema was 'taunting about'. He was going across the field to check on his injured player and while doing so in the break in the action, basically the whole South Carolina team was out in the field with Beemer addressing them. Bielema was upset with that and having to walk around South Carolina to get to his player so he was giving a repeated signal to South Carolina the signal the refs give for injured players.
