Mikey Matthews. Two years eligibility left. Played at Utah one year and Cal the next. Smallish, water bug type of receiver (5'9", 180 pounds). Last year caught 32 passes for 272 yards. Freshman year at Utah caught 27 passes for 261 yards. Mostly used on quick passes near the line.

I do wish Tayveon luck and hope he finds a good fit.

Seattle still up 10 with 1:35 left. Looks like a pretty embarrassing loss for Washington. The Huskies did get news that French player Dominique Diomande has been granted eligibility by the NCAA. He is not currently with the team and it is yet to be seen if he will join them this year but he is a projected top 50 NBA pick.

I understand, but Bennett is already 27 and hasn't taken an NFL snap yet. Georgia most certainly has not been known as a team that has produced quarterbacks with any kind of success at the next level and they've had some really highly touted ones come in under Kirby. The Rams played Brett Rypien in front of him and brought Carson Wentz off of unemployment to play in front of him.

This is one reason I can't stand Kirby: earlier in the season he shoved Texas A&M's quarterback while trying to argue with an official. Kirby claimed he 'didn't see him', but I don't know how the natural reaction of 'not seeing someone' is then to forearm shove them out of the way. Georgia's response? I would also say that Kirby sure hasn't had success in terms of raising quarterback's draft stocks. Jake Fromm was the #2 QB in his high school class. Carson Beck was #5. I can't think of a Kirby quarterback who showed great improvement in the eyes of NFL scouts. Kurtis Rourke improved from his previous year more than any Kirby QB ever has.

Strongly disagree that he wasn't going pro before the injury occurred. Now there isn't any doubt that he will be returning to Georgia. One thing I will say is that Kirby sending him back into the game -- even just to hand the ball off -- shows what kind of a guy he is. It was obvious that Beck had sustained a major injury -- he couldn't even lift his arm.

Without the injury, he wouldn't have been coming back to Georgia according to most sources. Beck has been at Georgia since 2021 and he's already 23. Would not have made sense for him to come back. Now the possibility of him coming back is more -- not less -- likely because his draft stock just took a huge hit.

+1. Carson Beck has been rated in the top quarterbacks if he entered the draft and almost assuredly was going to go that route. If anything, that makes it more likely that he will try to rehab and come back to try and play for Georgia at some point next season. He's had the surgery and expectation would be that he would try to start throwing sometime in the spring. Recovery time is typically 9+ months which if he didn't have setbacks would allow him to play during Georgia's season. They also still have Stockton coming back and he was the #7 QB in the class of 2022. Doesn't leave any margin of error for Mendoza should he decide to go to Georgia.

In terms of Mendoza picking between Georgia and Indiana, I'm sure that Georgia is willing to roll with Conner Stockton. He was the 7th ranked QB in the class of 2022 and in the little time he has played at Georgia behind Beck, he's been decent (37 of 51, 354 yards).

Mendoza isn't a guy who was a big part of the running game at Cal. More of a scramble when necessary.
