  1. I love IU, my alma mater, but I find myself getting there too. I used to count down the hours to tip off on game day, even preseason games. Nowadays, I don't even bother. In fact, I find it mentally healthier to avoid watching IU all together. Woody was never the guy. No one, college or NBA, was considering him yet we hired him bc why? He went to Indiana? The guy has failed everywhere, has zero drive, and is drinking wine and smoking cigars after getting waxed at home by Northwestern. If we give him another year, I mean damn. Why? What is the logic behind another year? I don't think money is the issue and it shouldn't be at IU if we're serious about winning. We just aren't.
  2. My thoughts exactly. Pearl has succeeded everywhere. He won't coach forever, though, so he isn't the long, long term solution. But the chances of him NOT succeeding at IU are, IMO, much smaller than May. May could certainly be the next Coach K but he could also be the next Archie Miller and then we're back in this position again. Let Pearl come (if we can get him) get us back to prominence, let him retire, and then take a chance on an up and comer. I feel our chances of success are much higher hiring Pearl or another proven P5er with where we are right now.
  3. With help from a fire alarm... Just kidding but Wisco had the momentum and tied it up when the alarm went off. That's usually when we fold.
  4. Well, poop Cue the "see, all we needed was Xavier" BS from Woody. We are in basketball hell.
  5. I smell another extension coming...
  6. His pregame interview before playing IU has some good nuggets about the State of Indiana, IU and Knight. Indiana def seems to give him a fuzzy feeling. Fast forward to the 1:00 mark.
  7. What does the day/time matter is my question to you? They just lost, on their home floor, to Northwestern. The message he's sending every single person it that building - whether that's coaching staff, players, or a secretary - is losing doesn't bother me. Teams take after their coach and this is exactly what's happening to IU. We're lazy, undisciplined, and have no direction. After that loss, would you rather see our head coach smoking cigars and drinking wine with his buddies or getting his @$$ back to work, figuring out WHY we just lost to NW at home, meeting with his staff, planning for the next one, etc? Coach Cig hasn't coached a game in the B1G but he's at least in his office every freaking morning before the sun rises getting ready. Our basketball coach is smoking cigars and drinking wine after a home loss. FIGURE IT OUT, COACH. Until then, take the wine and cigars home.
  8. I agree with that entirely. I just don't have the confidence Woody is going anywhere anytime soon.
  9. I disagree. Maybe I hold people to unrealistic standards, especially those that are getting paid millions to coach basketball, but in my opinion, doing this (whether it's standard practice for him or not) sends the wrong message to every single person in that building. It says losing is business as usual, nothing wrong here. Losing will not have any consequences and when that's the case, what (or who) is going to motivate anyone to work harder and fix this? Bc it wont fix itself. I'm all for having a cigar or a nice glass of red but maybe not in my office directly after NW just beat me on my home floor. Go back to work, Woody.
  10. I don't see this program being respectable for at least 3-4 years. Since our admin is clueless, I'm going to assume Woody is here for at least 2 more years. Even if we lose out, I just don't have the confidence they'll fire him. If he's actually sitting around, lounging, smoking cigars and drinking wine after losing to NW at home, that's a semi-retired man. He doesn't care. He's basking in a nice salary and friends that will protect him. We're screwed.
  11. All the schools you mentioned are, in fact, Blue Bloods that all had tremendous momentum/consistent winning. This will probably upset you but IU isn't. No one outside Indiana cares about our banners, especially 18 year old recruits. Just bc we have 5 banners hanging does not cement our status as a Blue Blood. UNC, Duke and Cuse hired from within and it worked for them (not really Cuse) and honestly, I'd rather see Jordan Hulls in charge over Mike Woodson. Nova is 11-10 and went to the NIT last year. UCONN is killing it - can't deny that. We've tried an IU guy and it's failed. We don't have the momentum they all had. The only time we did was before we fired Crean and we hired Archie freaking Miller. Momentum is how you build something and keep the recruits coming consistently. You can't keep swinging, missing and hiring a new guy every 2-3 years. You just can't. Time to ditch the losing mentality and get a proven winner. Had hope for Woody and it looked good for a minute but the truth is he was never it.
  12. Hah. That's funny. You win. Let's hire the next up and comer assistant or an average coach who was born in Indiana. We'll be in the exact same spot we are when you guys are screaming for his exit in 2-3 years AGAIN. If we don't take a risk or be bold, we're ALWAYS going to be beaten by some school that did.
  13. All charges were dropped. If he was convicted of that crime, he'd be in prison.
  14. Might want to add allegedly in there for accuracy. And all charges against him were dropped. I wont give the guy a life sentence for maybe, possibly doing something bad. People make mistakes. He didn't murder someone.
  15. I stand corrected but agree with you.
  16. He wins. Every top 5 coach in the country does some shady stuff. That's just the way it is. It's not up to us to be a moral compass for the program. If kids seem a problem with a coach, they don't need to commit. It's always their decision where and who they play for. Mark Few might be the exception. He seems to be squeaky clean.
  17. The only positive I saw with Woodson when he was hired was his NBA connections and the fact that his players really love him. Kids love that crap. Get some of those guys to Bloomington and make sure they put it all over social media. That's where kids sit all day long and it's the world we're living in. Get Calipari talent here and we have a chance. Not a good one, but if he can't do it then, there's no excuse. Yes, I know he currently has talent. I just want to see him use his NBA relationships MUCH MORE. Or hire Crean again - his teams were at least fun until tourney time.
  18. Cant win if we don't rebound or play defense. Miami wants it more. Pathetic showing tonight.
  19. Start pressing. Need to change it up.
  20. JHS has to be exhausted. Played the entire game yesterday.
  21. Hoosiers on offense - I have 0 confidence we'll score. Hoosiers on defense - I have unlimited confidence PSU will score. They just want it more.
  22. Mentally weak team, fellas. We should be up double digits.
  23. Absolutely. Who cares at this point. We're slowly fading into complete irrelevancy ala our football program.
