  1. Has there been any talk about who's winning the QB battle? Really hope we don't trot Lagow out there again.
  2. If you think Golden State is a better team without the guy who averaged 15/10/6 in that post-season, then I am absolutely astounded. How did he potentially cause them a championship? Because he didn't play? But he's a bigger negative than positive? Makes absolutely no sense.
  3. So you think Green has an overall negative impact on Golden State..? Maybe just a *tad* bit of hyperbole there?
  4. I think we'd need Clifton AND Smith to contribute in that scenario.
  5. Listen I like Archie as a coach too and everything, but Blackmon won't become some great defender under him. Best case scenario he'll be able to hide him relatively well but that's it. The bottom line is Blackmon doesn't have great instincts or lateral quickness defensively, those are two things guys tend to naturally have, not something a coach teaches you. The NBA definitely won't put a first rounder into a below average athlete (by NBA standards) with questionable lateral movement ability who has a history of knee injuries who also happens to be pretty one dimensional offensively... Sorry to sound harsh, but Blackmon just isn't a first rounder, doesn't mean he can't have success but he has very real limitations that good coaching can't fix in a year.
  6. I'd be thrilled with a Flint, Ostrom, Groce staff... but where is this rumor if Groce doesn't get the Akron job he's coming to IU coming from? Not saying I don't believe it, I would just like to see the source.
  7. As far as realistic hires, I think adding Ostrom and Cheaney would be good. Groce would be an outstanding hire but that is probably a long shot.
  8. I'm saying their resume's are actually pretty close, except Pitino won one more game one year. Yeah Pitino had success in the NBA, but the NBA is a completely different game than college so I don't know if success in the NBA would translate to college, or help "prove" yourself as a coach in the college game.
  9. If Archie does well here, he's here for the long run. Indiana will match the salary and resources any other school would be willing to give him. I'm sure UK, Duke etc. would ask if he's having success but I just can't see it happening. Especially when Archie already considers this one of the premier coaching jobs in the country.
  10. Not expecting Langford, just get Phinisee and Jallow to start the class.
  11. I don't even understand what his point is? We're not focused enough on the process? Would he prefer we say that we don't care if you win a championship ever, just as long as you enjoy the process! The point of firing Crean and hiring Miller is getting somebody who can have us in the conversation on a consistent basis, not winning it or even being the favorites on a consistent basis, just simply being in the conversation. Crean could barely even get us into the tournament on a consistent basis and when he did we never went past the sweet 16. Sorry to hear Crispin has an issue with those expectations, but as Archie said, if you don't like it then don't move into the neighborhood. He's ready for the challenge and I have complete faith in him.
  12. You also have to wonder if the offer may be taken off the table if he wants to go back to college.
  13. Perhaps, I'm not saying he's for sure coming here, just speculating that he would fit in really well here or at virtually any other big school as an assistant.
  14. I don't know if he would be, but I know he and Archie have ties (coached at Ohio State together) with one another so it wouldn't surprise me if they'd at least talk about it.
  15. Also I don't know if this has been talked about, but John Groce would be a great assistant coach here. Could really help on the recruiting side of things and has Indiana ties.
  16. And the NBA will tell him he needs to improve. I really don't think we'll lose him to the NBA. I'd say if he does leave it would be to transfer somewhere he feels he can show off his skills for the NBA.
  17. As much as I'd love Collin to come back, he has a really good job offer. I can't see him turning it down to come back to IU.
  18. I think Morgan can turn into a Nigel Hayes type of player with the right coaching.
  19. Changing the attitude of the team can have just as big of an impact if not a bigger impact on our team defense than changing our philosophy.
  20. Can anyone link the Archie interview in here?
