I think you missed the grand canyon sized gap between Coach K and Crean. Miller has taken freaking Dayton further than Crean has ever taken IU. One school is a mid major and the other is a blue blood.

His offensive numbers have always been pretty good at Virginia, if I recall correctly. They'd probably only improve here.

I'd honestly take Bennett over all of them if I'm being honest. I still think Marshall was our best bet, but I would take Bennett over everyone you listed.

He went to the elite 8 last year.

FWIW, which probably isn't anything, I saw a rumor over on Reddit by some guy who said IU was pushing Donovan for a decision last night/today, and that Bennett was ready to accept the job today.

I get why some people may not want Alford, but This is a pretty good article in his defense. You're questioning whether he can get top level B1G players while comparing his results to some of the top teams in the conferece.... I don't get it.

They lost to Kentucky in the round of 32, that is hardly an indictment against them.

His Wichita State teams are better than most B1G players anyway.

This is the bright side to Marshall.... If we get him, there is virtually no opponent we will play where we will be at a coaching disadvantage. The only issue is whether he can recruit at a high level.

Marshall or Miller would be my hire... Both coaching mid major colleges who have taken their teams further than Crean has ever taken IU.

Yes I'm aware, not claiming it's accurate or anything but just thought I'd share it.

Not to be another guy posting a random rumor without confirmation, but I just thought I'd throw this out there... I have a friend who knows some guys in the athletic department who apparently told him Donovan to IU is a "lock". Again, i'm not an insider, will never claim to be or anything, just thought i'd share it. Don't know anything about who he talked to, how high up they are etc.

If it comes down to one or the other, I'd rather have Moore than Durham. -
In the off chance it is Alford, I do think he's a slightly better coach than Crean... But still Donovan all day everyday.

I'm hoping if Green can return, he can beat out Newkirk to be the starting point guard next season.

Get Johnson to stay and we can still be a good team with some proper coaching. Newkirk/Johnson/Smith/Morgan/Davis is a team with a lot of talent. This line-up is assuming JBJ, Bryant, and OG are all gone. I hesitantly put Smith at the starting 3 spot, because I really don't know who would play there unless we use a 3 guard line-up.
