Who knows what Vandy is thinking. I think it very unlikely. But I've learned to never say never. My guess is they are looking for a long term guy and they want to make a big splash with this hire. Just playing devils advocate. Everybody likes Crean right now so that means he is probably getting ready to leave.
-
So, what you are saying is Crean will take Macks job at X when he jumps for the bigger gig. Makes sense close to his kid and catholic school as well.
-
I doubt anything comes of this but I'm not ready to totally disregard these rumors just yet. I wouldn't be surprised by anything in todays world. Other SEC schools are at least trying to compete with UK , hiring some big name coaches, so what if Vandy is willing to put forth the cash to do the same with a guy who has done decent against Calipari? Not out of the realm of possibility. Crean could also use this to get another extension as well. How would that go over in Hoosierdom?

I think Marshall leaving WSU is less likely than Crean leaving IU.

Love to land this kid. Not sure where that leaves Newkirk, though. -
Less expectations and more money. I could see it. They will want him since he can beat UK.

IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?
Alford Bailey replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Troy is in an interesting position. Graduates and and can play another year. Wants to go to the NBA but isnt good enough. Do you leave now for overseas? He should stick around or grad transfer and try to raise his NBA stock IMO. I'm not one who thinks Troy is necessarily NBA level talent but overseas will be available to him next year as well. -

I tend to agree Hutch and hope your predictions are right. -
IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?

Yes. That is a valuable roster spot. Find the right grad transfer or late signing recruit and we become a title contender next year. -
IF, TB comes back we net more talent next year IMO. Z3 is easily replaced and Yogi gets replaced with 2-3 really good recruits. Reminds me of IU losing a couple guys off the 91-92 team but the 92-93 team being better.

Free Market Recruiting

Allow kids to go straight to the NBA. I'd enjoy watching the NBA deal with that mess since they've damn near ruined cbb. Pay the athletes $12-$15 hr plus scholly. That scholly is worth $25-$50 grand a year. Not very many students coming out of college without student loan debt. That is a HUGE benefit. -

Love to see UNC win it then over the summer it comes out that the cheating was worse than everyone thought. Want to see the NCAA squirm and lose the last little bit of credibility that corrupt organization was holding on to. -
Happy Easter!

A Final Analysis on the 2015-16 Hoosiers
Alford Bailey replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Totally agree Terry. This wasn't anything like the Syracuse loss. We were prepared. Similar to 2012 when the better team won. -
Go back and watch the game again and tell me what Crean coulda done different. Paige got a couple nice looks but UNC was moving the ball great and we were focused, rightly so, on the interior. Crean sat Z3 when he wasnt hitting because he is an obvious liability on D. Good move. We had many looks that didnt go and then the foul situation. You cant play guys 40 min so I was fine with substitutions tonite. I honestly thought we as prepared as we were against UK but we all knew we needed a really good shooting night to beat UNC. UNC beats Kansas or any team left last night.
-
Big picture I'm still bearish on Crean but can't blame him tonite. They couldn't miss and we missed a bunch we shoulda made. Then it snowballed. Lets just hope Crean found something coaching wise that carries over to next year.
-
Hate to see Yogi go but almost ready for a change as well. Got a feeling Newkirk is gonna surprise. Not so much scoring but leadership and getting guys the ball.
-
If Bryant comes back and even if Troy leaves we will be very good next year. 25 plus wins again. This optimism doesnt mean I think we make a FF.

NCAA Tournament Final 4 Thread

Oregon was running out the clock and Brooks launches a 3 from 30 ft and hits it as the shot clock expires. Trash talking throughout the game but you know Allen was running his mouth as well. K said something to Brooks after the game then denies it. -

Interested to see how Romeo handles the pressure now that the whole state knows about him. And how about Vijay and Marion making a run? -

He has coached some of the biggest punks to literally ever play the game. Hypocritical drama queen is so accurate. Shut up and take your beating like a man. I hate UK and PU but Duke is right there with them. -
