  1. Low floor. Low ceiling. Low BBIQ.
  2. Thanks, Jersey... good call... Man, some of y'all will argue about anything, regardless how unrelated it is. No wonder these threads are thousands of pages long.

  4. Was coming to post this... clearly this whole NIL thing is out of control... I agree... he entered the portal, but no one should touch him... of course, new suitors will line up anyway...
  5. So, total disregard for the rules is the way to go? No rules = anarchy. The point of rules, "right" or not, is to define the parameters of competition and fairness. A rule, good or bad, should apply to ALL participants... there is no "jury nullification"... defying the rules because you don't like them demonstrates bad character... either you're a moral, stand-up guy, or you think that the rules don't apply to you. Clearly, morality and high character is passé around these parts.
  6. It's NOT about the rules, per se. It's the fact that regardless of what the rules were at any given time, these guys thumbed their noses at them. That speaks to their character more than anything.
  7. IMO, the issue of guys like this (and Sampson, Pitino, Wade, Sean Miller, Self and their ilk) is NOT the specific rule that they broke... it's the fact that they broke the rules to gain an advantage. The fact that these clowns think the rules don't apply to themselves is the disgusting and disqualifying issue for me.

  9. At Louisville he was fired as part of the NCAA investigation for providing a payment of $1,300 in "extra benefits" to the father of recruit Brian Bowen. He and fellow Louisville assistant Jordan Fair "participated in impermissible recruiting activities related to a basketball prospect and individuals associated with basketball prospects. Violations included impermissible in-person off-campus recruiting contact with a prospect; impermissible contact and/or communication with individuals associated with Team United and providing impermissible transportation to Christian Dawkins and Brad Augustine while they accompanied prospect on an unofficial visit." Louisville self-reported the impermissible recruiting contact by Johnson. source: https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/louisville/2022/03/28/breaking-down-7-allegations-lodged-louisville-ncaa/7178287001/
  10. And no one with a brain could argue against Jeff Teague’s position.
  11. Mike Woodson would disagree. More stars = less coaching.
  12. + 1,000,000 To quote a real estate dude I know, "you guys got to chill".
  13. Yep. And we've seen what a collection of talent can do when it's not assembled into a team or coached sufficiently (IU/Woodson) ... and we've seen what happens when a team is built from the portal and coached (Louisville) ... but getting quality HS kids who can develop and who will stick around will help build the continuity that we desire...
  14. True. And as of April 10, our record is exactly the same as Michigan’s and Louisville’s and every other team in the P5… gotta be patient and let the process develop. Even KwaC knows that :)
  15. I saw that... brilliant move by McDermott... Huss is gonna kill it when he gets the reins...
  16. Some, including me, are frustrated with the state of the program over the past 25-30 years, and the ineptitude of the administration to appear to even give a crap about the legacy of Indiana basketball. Hiring Mike Woodson was a mistake of epic proportions. Keeping him for FOUR YEARS, was borderline criminal. The frustration continues to build, based on past decisions, and fear or concern that the administration doesn’t care enough to even try to right the ship. The new hire (Darien DeVries) gives us a glimmer of hope once again… but there’s a part of me that feels like Charlie Brown, running up to kick the football, knowing that Lucy is sitting there waiting to pull the ball away one more time. Sometimes negativity is the only way to react to this mess. And while hope springs eternal, the doom and gloom is always there in the back of my mind. The silence is both frightening and encouraging. Is it silent because it’s ready to fail again? Or is this time really going to be different? Unfortunately, we cannot and will not know until we know.
  17. Is a signed recruit allowed to visit during a quiet period?
  18. I wonder how biased the study was... it was done by a satellite campus of Indiana University...
  19. Well, the big differences between Woodson are DeVries are obvious. Woodson is a d!ck, DeVries is not. Woodson had no clue, DeVries has resurrected two programs. Woodson wanted the title, DeVries wanted the job. Woodson was a lazy egomaniac, DeVries appears to be a rational human being. Woodson was a nepotistic hire, DeVries was hired based on his history and his experience.
  20. Didn't know where to post this... so here it is... https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/44578506/kris-jenkins-sues-ncaa-limiting-pay-villanova
  21. Buckle up. Rice is another one who was crap at IU (albeit with little to no coaching), only to go to another B1G school and stick it to us twice a year...
