Dakich was beating Crean's drum tonight - the man has won 2 outright B1G championships in 4 years... But I missed the part where he said that in the other 2 years of that 4 year period, CTC has failed to get his team into the dance... and let's not even discuss his prowess in the tournament. Glass has to do something this year... the players have quit, the fans are bailing, and, no doubt, the $$$ from the deep pockets are drying up...

It would also place his application for an additional medical RS season in jeopardy(if he was even considering such an application to the NCAA). That could indicate many things, including just having a senior to be able to even have a Senior Night. Happy for Colin. It cannot, however, change the fact that Tom Crean must go. This year.

There is no way in bloody hell that this happens. RMK is gone... and he ain't never coming back. If he didn't come back for the 40th anniversary of the '76 undefeated NCAA champion team, he's just flat not coming back. Not sure I'd want him any where near our program, given his current level of immaturity, vitriol and stubbornness. And I WAS being nice. Gonna toss this right out OF the discussion.

He's gonna need someone to replace Gelon when he "creans" him ... that is, if Crean is around to do any "creaning".

For me, the worst part of all is when Crean "drops" the injury thing into the conversation and immediately follows it up with "but that's not an excuse". He's as shrewd as they come... laying it out there and immediately discounting it... but now he's put it in your mind. I guess he thinks we're all (fans, sports media, etc) that dumb.

My take is that he may be a bit of a tool, but that most of his shtick is just an act to keep his ratings up... kind of a PeeWee Herman meets Steven Colbert with a basketball twist. Of course, I could be way off, too.

<sarcasm> Why would they? The boys played hard. They fought. They tried to grasp what Crean's teaching them. All the media pressure and all the talking heads are just so unfair. They are really trying. They want to get it. Maybe if CTC had more signs. </sarcasm>

Likewise, Crean's post game pressed was funny to watch. He wants so badly to lay this on injuries, and keeps hinting at that while saying it's not an excuse. Does anyone think he snaps at some point and just goes off? The dude has to be sitting on an emotional powder keg. Also, Fisch was on with Dakich earlier in the week … and he appeared to agree with DD's take on the situation. I wonder how much of that was genuine and how much was PC playing along. Yeah... I posted a link to one of his columns earlier this week. Kravitz has always been a shill for Crean... and an overall tool. Alway was, even back in the days when RMK roamed the sideline.

Agreed. Conference tournaments are here to stay. But why play an 18 game regular season schedule just to seed the league for a 5 day tournament? One could argue that IF you are going to play a conference tournament, you should only allow ONE team per conference into the NCAA … that, in effect, the conference tournaments are part of The Dance. It makes no sense to me to have the conference beat itself up for 10 weeks, then cram a 14 team tournament into 5 days and then end up playing a conference foe for a S16, EE or FF berth.

I can go along with most of that. However, I am NOT offering sympathy for Crean. He screwed the pooch and deserves to be run out of town on a rail. #fireTomCrean

I absolutely guarantee that Beard will never coach in Bloomington. No way. No how. RMK, with all of his bitterness (speaking of immaturity), will never allow that... and I have no doubt that he's already poisoned that well beyond recoverability.

It's The Barn... IU WILL get beat down... Crean's only won there twice in 9 years... just don't see it happening.

This one only applies when both players involved already have 4 fouls charged to them. This will eliminate any unfair advantage given by disqualifying only one player.
