Further OT, but when I saw highlights of him as a HS player I hoped we'd find a way to get him, even if he was a one-trick pony. He's stuck around the NBA so he's shown he's more than that.

I love this if for no other reason than it keeps the pot stirring....it's fun!

Scotty's quite the 'tattler' I've noticed.

True to every other coach search we have: - Infighting about our resident insiders. - An influx of new posters with hostile attitudes - Lines drawn, PRO & CON, about a dozen or so possibilities - Radio Silence from the AD - Disappointment, woe, and smugness After weeks of this, a new coach will be announced. There will be jubilation from many, angst from others. Then acceptance. Then the portal lottery will be the attention grabber. We will win the portal and spend months predicting our success. Then season begins, hopefully with positive results for a change.

Maybe I pay to much attention to politics, but I still prefer to believe we're in the middle of a disinformation campaign from the ones conducting the search. Brad Stevens could still be in play or he may have never been in play. Our insiders are only relaying what they've been told. This thread would be pretty dull if we just sat around campaigning for our personal choices until the AD put out an official announcement. For us the search for a new coach should be seen as entertainment - I'll let the ones conducting the search do the worrying. P.S. Please don't feed the trolls.

Jay Wright? lol

IMO, this search has, and will continue to, involve multiple smokescreens/misdirections/obfuscations - effectively, I might add. We don't know if the BS info was B.S.. No "insider" is going to get the skinny from Dolson himself, so the chain of info could be corrupted anywhere. In the words of Ruth from Ozark: "I don't know sh*t about f*ck".

Your Hoosier posting board history

I forgot about Craig. That guy was a dedicated fan for sure. I believe he was living in Hawaii. -
I only caught the last few minutes of the game and was shocked that we were winning and had played zone. About time we mixed things up a bit. I have to wonder a) was msu caught off guard by our defense, and b) how effective it could be in upcoming games with teams that prepare for it and have capable 3-pt shooters.

I believe that Gorkjo guy and another (Ducati?) were a big part of the site I mentioned above (Claire Bee was the password to join). -

The first board I was on was the Indy Star. They had separate IU and Purdue boards and the IU forum was way more active. Several of the clowns that later formed the "Claire Bee" site (I forget the name) were on there. I don't remember what site it was on but my favorite user name was "Hands of Blab", lol. -

I watch very few games that don't include IU so I can't assess most of the coaches being discussed as far as how their teams play. However all things considered I do include style of play in importance (along with age, and history of winning against Q1 type teams). IMO, the ability to adapt how your team plays, along with how the conference plays/is officiated, would be a major plus in my book.

One factor to think about is a prospective coach's experience with NIL players. We talk about how much $$ we have for NIL, but the most talented ones want money, PT, and an opportunity to showcase themselves. I'd argue that those players are quite different than the players Stevens had at Butler. There has to be some question of either how well he can succeed with ego-driven mercenaries or can he build more in the traditional way at IU. IDK, but I'm inclined to believe he'd be more successful going more the traditional route. Brad Stevens remains my #1 choice BTW. -

Mark Few is a name I wouldn't have even considered, but after JY's post here we are. One thing Few would bring is a history of attracting foreign players. I've long wished we would tap that market and bring in players with euro/international experience. Good fundamentals, size, and shooting without being corrupted by AAU type play. -

Our moral record would be complicated & hard to calculate - due to our moral losses (lackluster wins against cupcakes). -

Agreed. He spent a fortune in the portal (i.e. had a blank check) and this is the best he can do. He doesn't recruit. What magic does anyone think he's going to find to ever do appreciably better? I'm fine with letting him coach out the season IF it means we grab a 'plum' replacement. -
