Not being a d*ck, but why are you so confident about this? We don't even know what our roster will look like. The Big ten has MSU, MI, PU, WI, & IL who'll be projected to be battling for the league crown and there will be 3 other teams with new coaches - IA & MD won't be slouches. Finishing 7th or 8th won't 'easily' put us in the tournament, let alone guarantee advancement. Any coach who can put us in the top 5 based on our current position will have to be very good, practically a magician. It'll be great if that is what we have.

Imagine how much worse it would be if we were in the same situation and Tucker was still in the portal and/or Sisley reopened his recruitment.

When and how does a coach determine which type a given player is? Is it during the visit, or before extending an offer. IDK

That's a good approach. Fan's look at players like thumbing through a catalog. It seems Woodson did the same. I suspect DD will be doing things differently and we may not be able to predict or explain some of his decisions. All that matters is that he assemble the roster as best he can to produce a competitive, winning team. Until he's established his recruiting and brought in a couple of classes, we may not see what his ultimate IU team will look like.

I'd like to see him end up at a school like Dayton. If he can get past his injury and regain his skills, it'd be fun to watch him dominate. Then he could cash in. I'd think NIL opportunities would be unrealistic at this time.

It's interesting that you mention beard & UK. I was perusing their MB and there's a couple of threads about our hire. More than one poster was criticizing us for not hiring beard. All I could think was: why didn't you guys hire him, then? They instead hired a guy that no one outside Kentucky considered a home run but it seems to have worked out well for them. It's similar hypocrisy as those types being critical our our past hires (justifiably), but then criticizing our fans of "running off" those same lackluster coaches after 4 seasons (or more).
