Someone forgot to tell Louisville that they were required to give Payne 3.5 years because Mack got 3.5 years.

It’s just basic human decency. Like there’s no reason to be a jerk for the hell of it. Woody thinks he’s a king and everybody else is his subject (even though they’re better at their jobs than he is at his).

Woody doesn’t care enough to dig in and identify diamonds in the rough. Takes too much effort. Look at his high school recruiting. He just goes after the same top players as everyone else (and then goes 0-31).

NGW ran off Chris? That’s like the message board equivalent of IU keeping Woodson instead of hiring Pearl.

Does any non-affiliated person actually believe that keeping Woodson is best for the program?

I’ll feel excitement when Mike Woodson is gone. He’s just very, very hard for me to root for.

That money would’ve been far better spent buying Mike out and hiring a real coach than continuing the Mike Woodson vanity tour and trying to buy him another fringe tournament team. He’s so lazy that he’s abandoned recruiting altogether and is just throwing money at mercenaries.

We all root for what we think is the best thing for the IU basketball program. You’re not any more of a “true fan” for rooting for what you think is best than anyone else. Woodson, and many of his disciples, don’t want ‘fans.’ They want yes men.

I choose none of the above. I was never a huge Leal fan, but was mostly indifferent. Just didn’t think he was worth the scholarship. Now, though, definitely not a fan.

Count me as an NIL hater. It’s professional sports without any regulation. In the NBA you have salary caps, multi-year contracts, maximum amounts. There’s structure. In college basketball every player is a mercenary demanding more money every year or else they’ll bolt and go somewhere else. It will ruin college sports if it continues unchecked.

You clearly just don’t understand consensus building…

Guys, Woodson is 100% back next season. You don’t tell the fans to kick rocks on senior night and send your seniors out to do the same if you’re retiring after the season.

Instead we have Mediocre Mike to regularly chastise us for not loving his mediocrity.

He also treats the other IU coaches like crap despite most of them being more successful college coaches than he is. He’s showing us his character. We should believe him.

He literally lost his only recruit last week lol. How does an 18-13 season with zero recruits warrant “pushing back against his demise”? He’s an incredibly arrogant man who thinks he’s entitled to unbridled support from the fanbase despite half a**ing his job and producing mediocre results.

How do those rumors “impinge on their character”? And I really don’t recall any rumors about Anthony Leal at all. Dude has been one of the most supported IU players in recent history and then he turns around and slaps the fanbase in the face as a thank you. Just utterly bizarre to see the “told ya so, you’re bad fans” rants from the players and coaches at the close of an 18-13 regular season that almost certainly won’t end in a tournament appearance. Too little, too late.

Is it not possible to “lay on a grenade” for Woodson without dumping on the fans? Leal really should be the last one to dump on the fans. He’s gotten a ton of support from the fans despite being player #13 on the roster for most of his career here. Pretty unprovoked, and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Don’t slap a sh** sandwich on my plate and then attack me when I complain that you’re feeding me sh**. I don’t really care what happens with IU basketball as long as Woodson’s the coach. We’ve seen his character. That’s not the kind of guy I root for.

It’s not like this is the first time Mike Woodson has done this. He’s done it throughout the season. Tonight was just the most extreme. His arrogance 100% is a huge reason why fans have turned so hard against him.
