The thread has officially jumped the shark.

Some truly abhorrent basketball being played between Maryland and Michigan St. I'm going to go back to my book.
-
I absolutely will... unless it's one of two names.
-
He stated Indiana could do better than a guy who only had 1 or 2 good seasons, and then proceeded to list 4 guys he likes, all of whom have only had 1 or 2 good seasons.
-
Could you explain why you like Brad Brownell and not use the words "from Indiana" in your explanation?
-
I believe he believes he's close with Dolson.

Fanta is the best in the biz. I don't think he has any inside info, but he's the main reason to watch the Field of 68.
-
Please don't compare Scott Drew to Tom Crean. That's extremely insulting to Scott Drew. He built Baylor until a national contender from nothing and has kept it there for 14 consecutive years. He's one of the best coaches in college basketball.

Typical Facebook boomer behavior. No offense to any boomers here. B-Town Banner boomers are cool.
-
We have already had one guy sent to the gulag for complaining about what is being talked on this thread, I think it's about time for another.
-
This is not about Chris Beard. Search Mary Kate on Twitter to find out what it's about. Assuming you are referring to his tweet about "reports from ole miss" EDIT: Maybe NSFW information (no images or videos, but a wild situation nonetheless)

Stevens stepping down as GM for the Celtics to take a made up role of GM of a college basketball program is way more insane then him returning to coach. The coach is the GM for all intents and purposes; the GM position is made up for somebody to do the busy work the coach doesn't want to do.

Hubert Davis extension just announced. So one less elite school we won't have to worry about this off-season.
-
A lot of overreaction and assumptions today based on a story told by one guy. You shouldn't take his word as truth anymore than you should take Chris's or RTZ. Lighten up and have some fun. There is still a long ways to go. But assuming we are now scrambling because SS said BS said no 2 weeks ago (6 weeks until we would have to make a hire) is an overreaction.

My personal mental viewpoint heading into March will be: 10% Stevens (don't want to give up all hope; as I do believe several posters here are indeed hearing what they are posting here from legit boosters) 10% Scott Drew (Best coach I think we have an outside shot with) 10% TJ Otz (Best younger coach we may have a shot with who I think still has yet to reach his peak) 70% The Field I'd really love it if it didn't get to "The Field", but I'm mentally prepared this time around if it does. There are plenty of good coaches in the field, but I think all are at least a tier below those 3.
-
This hurts my Stevens to IU narrative. So I've decided you are wrong.

I am wearing the rose colored glasses but keeping it quiet, lol. I am also open to other candidates though. It's at least nice to hear Indiana linked to other good coaches like Scott Drew from outside of Indiana boards/sources. Like you, I feel good that Dolson will make a good hire. He's earned that from his football hire.
-
He's also "only" 54. So we could still have a 15 year run with him. So only 6 years older than BS or Otzelberger. He's been around forever so he feels older. I'd be surprised if he left too; but don't think you can say no thanks if he expresses interest.
-
Where do you get that he's fading off a bit? He's still finished in the top 4 of the Big 12 (the best conference in basketball during that time) the last 6 years and hasn't finished worse than 7th since 2010-2011. Sure it's a down year this year, but nothing tells me he is fading. Most proven coaches are going to have had really good years at previous stops. If Scott Drew says yes, you take him and run.
-
Not sure if hiring a guy who insists that "The points don't matter" is the right way to go.
-
Pretty impressive to have done deals with both Brad Stevens and Scott Drew. Is Dolson the greatest AD of all time?
-
Would be very happy with this. He's number #2 on my list behind the pipe dream.

You have to make it now and start posting so that by the time it happens, you can be fully integrated.
