I think IF it is Beard, it means we missed on every other top tier option; and the decision comes down to Beard + Baggage/Risk vs guys like McCollum, Byington, etc. I think Beard wins big here if we do hire him, just not sure if it's worth the risk of something else happening. I trust Dolson if he does decide to roll the dice with Beard though.

Also complaining to national media about him not being the coach next year, even though it was presented as his choice. I don't believe he knows a damn thing about what Scott Dolson is doing. He might think he does. Not saying Stevens or Drew will be our coach, I just don't think you can take anything he says seriously.

The way it was presented was that IU is still a very desirable top 10 job with a lot of resources. So it makes me think it's somebody more like Mark Few.

If you actually read the article, he listed all those guys and then listed "Mr Unexpected" so those names were in addition to whoever he is referring to here.

Now look at Baylor before he got there. Drew is a top 3 candidate for this job based on what he has accomplished. You can not like him for other reasons, but his accomplishments should not be one of them. If Drew isn't good enough, you have unrealistic expectations.

Ill preface this by saying I think the odds of Brad Stevens being our next coach are extremely low. But I think I'll trust a guy who got Butler to 2 national championship games, coached the Boston Celtics to the playoffs 7 out 8 years, and helped assemble a championship winning team as the President of Basketball Ops to assemble and coach a college basketball team with more NIL money than 99% of other schools. If Brad Stevens says he wants to coach here, I think he can choose whoever the hell he wants to be on staff and be successful.
