i have no problem giving him credit when it is do however I also have no problem calling him out when he hasn't done the greatest job. Doing a phenomenal job the last 8 years would be a matter of opinion but there is no denying the great job he has done this year so far
theres a whole lot of 10 loss seasons on this page and a lot of them are by a top 3 college coach of all time https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indiana_Hoosiers_men%27s_basketball_seasons
the year iu finished 5th, iu was 3-6 on the road and still finished 2 games back with a loss @ a 4-14 Nebraska team and a home loss to a 6-12 Minnesota team so in my opinion that was definitely competing for a big 10 title. I would much rather finish 5th and 2 games out instead of finishing tied for 2nd and 6 games back like in 1998-99
or the opposite could happen Iowa st entered the tournament as one of the hottest teams last year after they won the big 12 tournament only to get bounced by UAB in the first round. They fooled me I had them in the final four
it adds up when take in consideration the whole resume for the whole year. The 2 losses in Maui is what is keeping these projections any higher then 4 or 5. We would of been better off playing cup cakes at home instead of going to Maui. You go to these preseason touneys to improve your rpi, except if you lose 2 games to team with +120 rpi and your only win is against St. John's +200 rpi I believe

In 15 seasons covered by kenpom, the team with weakest B1G schedule has won 10 titles, including 7 of 10 outright champs. #iubb (1/3)
Of 20 B1G title teams since 02, only 3 have done so with an above median B1G schedule. 2013 #iubb is the only outright champ to do so. (2/3)
In other words, ignore the bitter pricks trying to put an asterisk on your 2016 Big Ten Champion Indiana Hoosiers. #iubb (3/3)
Curious in recruiting when a coach tells a recruit they won a conference regular season title or they tell a recruit they went to a final 4 which one would matter more for a high level recruit
coaches probably would. When a coach makes his 1st final 4 it's compared to a golfer winning his first major. Coaches are graded by final appearances. As a coach u never want to be on the list they show during the tournament as the best coach never to make a final 4

B1G records held/shared by #iubb: NCAA titles, all-Americans, B1G MVPs, B1G titles, NBA draft picks, Natl POY, all time leading scorer (1/2)
B1G single game scoring record, B1G single game rebound record, first team to score 70, 80, 90, 100; Hall of Famers. Ok there's more. (2/3)
Only two B1G teams to go 18-0 in conference (75, 76). Only two teams to go 17-1 in conference (53, 93). Great to be a Hoosier.
Tonight's episode will focus on Jackson Tharp and aj Hammons. I'm sure they will show highlights from the Purdue game. Hopefully it shows our players celebrating after the win like the showed Purdue winning last year
