For some it is but for others not so much. It’s just basketball. It happens -

They didn’t have a 16 point lead against those teams so it would have been hard to imagine or at least for me. -

Ius 6 of 7 losses are to KenPom top 25 teams with 4 of those being away from home. Still top 40 in the NET with a SOS around the 40s. Yes the roster is flawed however they still have opportunities in front of them. Massive 5 game stretch upon them. Purdue game is a bonus game that if you win it you have a huge resume win. 2 road games were against tourney quality teams (need to split) and then 2 home games you need to win with the one against Wisky the most important with the way they are playing. Margins between winning and losing are small. 1 game can change the perception of how things are. Imagine if IU finished the Nebraska game after being up 16 with 16 min to go? Instead of 4-5 in the conference with 0 quality wins they would have been 5-4 with a win against a projected 2 seed. Even with a flawed roster they still have a shot at a tourney birth. Won’t be easy but opportunity is there. -

Yeah. Dix isn’t a post player. I thought he was talking about post players and Freeman fit that bill

Freeman. Creighton paid him big money and now he comes off the bench. One of the biggest bust so far in the portal

Sounded like the administration wanted a full reboot when they moved on from the old coach
-
Not sure they would of had to choice to come back even if they wanted to

I’ve seen stranger things happen. 7 Q1 opportunities and 2 Q2 opportunities left. Unc was 1-11 in Q1 games last year and got in. B1G is a blessing and a curse. Go on a 3 or 4 game win streak and ever game is a good win. Plus maybe this is the year IU wins the BTT. You never know

Margin of error for teams in college basketball is small for teams. Not much separation between lower seeded tourney teams and teams that don’t make it. Even with a flawed roster that was put together by this staff they were right there for an at large and still could be. 4-4 in the B1G with a win over a top 10 team would of looked a heck of a lot better then 3-5 in the B1G with no big wins. 1 game can make the biggest of difference in perception. Blowing a 16 point lead at home to Nebraska was the biggest blow to the staff and the limited roster. The hottest AD in all of college sports now hand picked this coach. Dolson has as much rope as any AD in the game to see if his hire will work out. DeVries isnt going anywhere anytime soon. Should have known early on when he was hired this would be a weird year when he couldn’t even get into his office for a week or 2 because the old coach still had the keys. Working out of the team lounge probably wasn’t what he had envisioned when taking the job. Here’s hoping for a killer off season after this season is over.

Making the tourney year 1 doesn’t guarantee success for a coaching tenure just like missing the tourney year 1 doesn’t mean a coaches tenure failed. Just makes fans feel better when they start out hot.

Everyone would have missed the scout on Tucker. Wouldn’t have a reason that a 2 MVC player of the year that looked the part of a high major player last year at West Virginia wouldn’t have worked out. Sadly for IU Tucker lost his fast ball. I have no clue if he missed the scouting Enright. No clue if he recruited him to be a starter or bench piece that was familiar with his system. If he recruited him to be a starter then yeah big time miss however if he recruited him to be a glue guy bench piece then not sure he miss the scout on that

Chase Branham, Prince-Moody and most likely Trevor Manhertz.
