Speaking of that Kansas St win they are down 29 at home to Iowa St
-
Not his fault Marquette and Kansas St are ended up being crappy games. Any other year 2 power 5 non conference wins would result in 2 quality wins. Bad luck for IU that they ended up being less impactful. Even with this flawed roster they signs were there they could compete like they are now. 16 point lead in the second half on a projected 2 seed and had a 7 point halftime lead at another projected tourney team on the road. Building blocks. Just a remainder he took over a program that fired their last 2 coaches for on the court results and a program that has been to the tourney 2 of the last 8 years that hasn’t had back to back conferences winning records since I can’t even remember. Probably was going to take him longer than 16 games to wash away the stink of the last 9 years. Agree next year he needs to do better in roster construction. Even if he was 17-3 this year he was still going to have a big task in changing the narrative of the IU program. He is still going to have to face adversity this after he loses a game the fans think he shouldn’t(it’s going to happen)

You mean people said it was going to be a disaster hiring a coach with 0 college basketball experience? Water is wet. IU wasn’t serious about basketball when they hired him as coach and everyone included their own fans knew it
-
Got it. The topic being made with less then half season to be played. Maybe wait until more pieces of the puzzle were put in until posting a fire coach X before he coached his 10th conference game. Either way fans can post and cope with the success or non success of the program they are invested in however they want.

Other then the head to head win Iowa is around the same as IU as of today. IU has a better SOS and more Q1 wins. Iowa is road loss tonight at Oregon away being 5-5 in the league
-
Or it’s just part of being college basketball. Some teams get better while others regress
-
It is the same. It college basketball it’s going to happen regardless if your team you are invested in is on the bubble, off the bubble or safely in your team is going to blow a lead at some point.
-
Just this year Tennessee blew a 17 point lead to Kentucky at home, Virginia blew a 16 point lead at home to North Carolina with a first year head coach. It’s part of college basketball and especially now days with the importance of the 3 point shot. Double digit leads evaporate quickly nowadays

What a defensive possession by Chinelu from Florida. Impressive stuff. Florida up 8 over Bama
-
Probably not but it’s part of it. I’ve seen better programs then IUs basketball program right now blow 16 + leads at home and lose and some get blowed out in their quality non con games. It happens.

The season is long. Going to be ups and downs throughout the year. 36+ games is a lot of games. In a season most non elite teams will look like total crap in 5 or so games, will look at a great team in 5 or so games so it’s that middle 20 where a team probably is. IU wasn’t an elite team to start with this season and was probably a projected lower seeded tourney team as best case and a bubble team or one that just misses as worst case. Yep they looked like crap At Michigan (projected 1 seed), At Sparty(a projected 2 seed), home game against Nebraska( projected 2 seed). Would I of liked them to play better against teams that actually of a chance at winning it all? For sure however I also accept the fact that this team isn’t anywhere near that just yet. For me the most disappointing loss of the year was Iowa. They looked like and played like garbage against a team they should have competed better against. Bad games happen. Good games happen. It’s a long season enjoy the grind ( I know most of you are sick of that term)

Definitely encouraging. Was never as bad as some made it out to be but they were going to have to win some of these games. Season can be a long a winding road with ups and downs. Downs are more highlighted. With IU playing in the B1G and with the metrics they had going into conference play flipping the script quick with a good week was always in the cards. Keep stacking wins and win the games you are suppose to win and they should be in good shape however just as easy as having a good week can help having a losing week and losing one you shouldn’t could put them back on the cut line -

massive road win for IU Brad is a good bracketologist. For him they were 10th out and with these 2 wins they are his top 10 seed. When you play in the B1G a good week can flip the narrative. Still got to stack wins -
I’m at work but big time MWC matchup on cbs right now. Utah St/San Diego St

So does everyone else -
Don’t forget Michigan plays a non con game against Duke in February. Cannot wait for that game

Massive road win for Michigan. Might get them back to being number 1 in KenPom

Win over Purdue separates IU from other bubble teams rights now. It’s why they are projected in the field as of today over other teams. -

Michigan finished 11-9 above Penn State 10-10 in the B1G a couple years back. Michigan played in the NIT and Penn State made the tourney. Total body of work -

I don’t have to face reality. They either take advantage of their opportunities in LA or they don’t. If they do then they will still have to finish out the rest of the games and hope their body of work is enough or if they lose both they will have to win enough and hope their body of work is enough -
