  1. Caught between a rock and a hard place. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/former-iu-basketball-player-mo-creek-stranded-in-ukraine-its-just-bad-right-now/?fbclid=IwAR1IOQSZTU_nQPacaNi9cdiHUOBQx5uvE_MSpchnxOonvY_2tsiSucNKOAQ
  2. Heather Johnson, freshman from McCutcheon HS in Lafayette, took the mound in the 5th and recorded 3 Ks on 12 pitches. Hoosiers broke it open in the bottom of the 5th scoring 4 more runs to make it 8-1. Johnson struggled in the 6th giving up 3 hits and a walk. One of the hits a 3-run Hofstra HR to make it an 8-4 ball game after 6 innings. Johnson sets the side down in order in the 7th and Hoosiers win 8-4. Scheduled to play FL State at 5:00. Radcliffe: 3R, 2H, 2 RBI, 1HR Stone: 2H, 3 RBI, 2B Pitching staff: 15K’s
  3. Midway thru our weekend opener with Hofstra and Hoosiers lead 4-1. Freshman Brianna Copeland from Pelham, AL got the start and cruised through the first 3 innings with a no hitter and 6 Ks. Allowed 2 hits and a walk in the Hofstra 4th that scored Hofstra's lone run. She has struck out 9. We scored in the 1st on a solo HR by Grayson Radcliffe; added a run in the 2nd and 2 more in the 3rd.
  4. Jamie Shaw recruiting upda on McNeil - Paul McNeil, Jr. has been trending as one of the nation’s most intriguing shooting guards in the 2024 class. The 6-foot-5 sophomore averaged 24.6 points per game this season, leading his Rockingham (NC) Richmond Senior High team to a 24-1 record on the season. “I can do a little bit of everything on the floor,” McNeil, Jr. told On3 after a recent playoff win. “I’ve got mindset no one can stop me; I am him, Paul McNeil, Jr. My mid-range pull-up is what I do best on the floor; that is my game. I’m playing a lot better defense this season, and my ball-handling is turning into a weapon. I watch a lot of Chris Paul. I love his mid-range game and then his passing.” College coaches started taking note after a good summer playing with Garner Road on the Adidas 3SSB 15u circuit. Paul McNeil spoke exclusively with On3 about his recruitment and visits. “I have six D-I offers right now,” McNeil, Jr. said. “I’ve been on unofficial visits to UNC, NC State, Wake Forest, and Clemson. Clemson and NC State offered me.” McNeil, Jr talks recruitment Clemson: “When I went down there, they showed me a lot about their program and how they develop guards. They showed me how I fit on the wing with how they play and what they do. The campus is beautiful, that orange and purple is nice. We talk with coach Lucas (McKay) a good bit. They have a great crowd for games.” NC State: “It’s live there. That place is lit. The whole environment they have, I love it. I love everything about that place, coach (James) Johnson and Coach (Kevin) Keatts. Their playstyle, they let you rock out, do anything you want to with the ball.” “I also have offers from Tennessee, Indiana, Western Carolina, and Florida State,” McNeil, Jr. said. “Georgetown, Kansas, and North Carolina are some schools that have been in contact with us recently.” McNeil, Jr’s take “I want to go to a place where the ball will be in my hands,” McNeil said. “There are going to be a lot of good players already playing, but I want to go somewhere that is going to let me rock out. Early playing time will be big, and I play best in a run and gun, up and down type system.” On3’s take Paul McNeil, Jr. is a scoring guard. Make no mistakes about it, he has buckets on his mind. Standing with a lengthy frame, he has a pure stroke with natural balance and a consistent release. He will need to continue adding strength, and with that, more athletic explosion may come as well. McNeil, Jr. has a confident pull-up jump shot, going right or left, off two dribbles. He will need to tighten up his handle in the half-court and continue to work on his footwork and reads, but the natural mentality as a scoring assassin is there.
  5. McNeil with a near triple double in No. 1 Richmond's (24-1) 4A East playoff win over No. 16 Wake Forest (18-6) 87-57. He finished with 17p 19r 9a. He had a double double at halftime with 12p 13r. Richmond faces No. 8 Pine Forest on Saturday in a 3rd round game.
  6. Less Unhappy Hoosier Fan 68 Skinny Minny 66
  7. Johnson: 24 pts, 1 reb, 6 assts Thompson: 19 pts, 9 rebs, 1 asst Jackson-Davis: 10 pts, 5 rebs, 2 assts Kopp: 8 pts, 3 rebs, 3 assts
  8. Fisch just gave X the kiss of death pointing out he's not missed a shot tonight.
  9. Who cares! He can spell it Fatz for all I care!
  10. I believe Fatts is his true given name because he was such a chubby baby when he was born.
  11. Borowski told TV that the reason it counted was because he was fouled with 1 second on the shot clock. If he was not fouled, it would not have counted
  12. Yes you did. Picture on previous page.
  13. Nebraska athletic director Trev Alberts has announced Fred Hoiberg will return for the 2022 season. The announcement comes as the Cornhuskers are in the midst of a 7-20 season, including a 1-15 record in Big Ten action.
  14. OMG, he can shoot it from the outside. Anthony Leal, Race Thompson, AND Trayce Jackson-Davis all hit their pregame half court shots.
  15. Woody a little testy. Mike Woodson on pregame radio show with Don Fischer says "it's not about who starts, it's about who finishes games." Fischer asked him about changing the line-up and Woodson says, "What's that gonna do?"
  16. ENOUGH ALREADY. It was in jest. However, if things are really bleak at the start of the 2nd half you may proceed but until then let's keep it to a game thread. (Personally I'm a Jack Daniels guy). Thanks all.
  17. Maybe instead of discussing lineup preferences we should be discussing game day liquor preferences.
  18. Stock Risers and forwards to keep an eye on. 6-8 Khani Rooths Rooths has an intriguing skill set that continues to get better after each viewing. Blessed with long arms and a natural fluidity in his movements, Rooths uses his length to get in the passing lanes and disrupt things. The Washington (DC) Georgetown Prep forward has smooth tough with a repeatable release. He also has confidence in his handle to get to his spots off two and three dribbles. He will still need to continue adding strength and tightening his overall skill set, but the upside is obvious. Claimed offers: Xavier, Virginia Tech, Indiana, Georgetown, Maryland, etc.
  19. Stock Risers and forwards to keep an eye on. 6-9 Derik Queen The skill is what pops with Queen. He is comfortable on the ball, handling in the full or half-court, and scoring at each level. He can score on the block with his size and sturdy frame, with touch over both shoulders. Queen can also finish in the mid-range or catch and shoot threes. There are questions about his athleticism and explosion, but his production at Montverde (FL) Academy speaks for itself with talent toward the top of this class. Claimed offers: Indiana, Arizona State, Georgetown, Virginia Tech, Texas, LSU, DePaul, Auburn, Xavier, Maryland, etc.
