  1. Raoul - Hearing that Providence WBB grad xfer Alyssa Geary (6-4 SR forward, Elmhurst, IL) has committed to Indiana; 9.5 PPG and 4.2 RPG in 2021-22, 11.4 PPG and 4.8 RPG in 2020-21. https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/player/stats/_/id/4399375/alyssa-geary https://friars.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/alyssa-geary/8464
  2. Good day to be a Hoosier. Softball wins a pair and the IU women advance in the NCAA tournament. In our second game, we beat Iowa 8-4 scoring 6 runs in the top of the 7th. Benson and Ford each with 3 RBIs; Copeland with 2 which accounts for all of our scoring. We had 12 hits in the game. Heather Johnson went the distance giving up 4 runs on 9 hits; she didn't walk a batter. Tomorrow the women will play San Diego.
  3. Cliff's Notes summary: Bidunga in foul trouble most of the game. Sat out the final 7 min. of the 1st half after picking up his 2nd foul. #3 with 2:30 left in the 3rd and #4 with 48 sec. left in the 3rd. It was 34-29 Kokomo after 3 quarters but reports indicated Kokomo made stupid fouls and bad TOs and Chesterton tied it at 40 with 4:21 remaining. Bidunga was on the bench during this time. Score remained at 40 all until Chesterton played for the last second shot which Bidunga blocked but Chesteton with the offensive rebound and a Kokomo foul. Chesterton made both FTs with 7.4 sec. left but then fouled Kokomo with 1.7 sec. left. Shayne Spear missed the first and missed the 2nd intentionally and the ball went out of bounds off Chesterton with .4 sec. left but Kokomo couldn't pull it out and the final is 42-40 Chesterton. In all, Bidunga sat out roughly 11 min. of the game and still finished with 11p 10r 4b
  4. I don't know about the team, but I'm in a state of total exhaustion following all the back and forth in this thread with nothing new being added, just re-hashing the re-hash. We got whipped and outplayed. That's life in the D1.
  5. Bloom. North beaten by Cathedral 61-55. BN came out cold and trailed 19-7 after 1Q and the Cathedral lead grew to 26-9. BN fought back and it was 53-50 with 2:23 remaining and a Nick Klaiber 3 tied it at 53 but then Cathedral went on an 8-0 run to close out the game. Roberts 9 pts all in the 3rd Q.
  6. Hoosiers get a 2-0 win over Sam Houston State. An RBI double by Copeland and a solo HR by Radcliffe accounted for 2 of the 5 Hoosier hits but that's all it took. Montgomery pitched 6.1 innings giving up 2 hits and 3 BB. Johnson finished the 7th to preserve the win. This was Coach Stanton's 700th career win.
  7. In an early season AAU game, McNeil scored 28 as his Garner Road team defeated Team Hope 74-60.
  8. Love this quote from Charlotte head coach Cara Consuegra on Grace Berger: "She does what she does. She knows what her kill shot is, the mid-range pullup, and she knows how to get it. She's like a silent assassin."
  9. 6,389 in the Hall today. The 10th-highest attended game in school history.
  10. Good to see Gulbe back to her old self. She struggled in the B1G tournament and was reportedly not 100%. Rest between the B1G and today also beneficial for Mack.
  11. Several tweeters saying Woody is at the game and seated behind the IU bench. Damn cool on his part.
  12. The way our women's team plays is so reminiscent of how the men's teams played in the early years of Knight's tenure. So much fun to watch.
  13. The reports of Baylor's death may have been greatly exaggerated.
  14. Well, it does say In God We Trust on all U. S. currency.
  15. Sounding like Stu's favorite Dennis Gates could be headed to Missouri.
  16. Quaker Valley (27-0) trailed for most of the game and by as many as 16 in the 3rd Q until mounting a 4th quarter rally to beat Archbishop Carroll 67-60 to advance to the PIAA 4A state championship next Thursday night against Neumann-Goretti. The only stat I've seen for Thiero is he scored 20.
  17. Oklahoma proved it's the #1 team in the country with a 15-1 rout of our Hoosiers (13-6). We managed just 3 hits, one of them a solo HR by Stone in the 5th for our lone run. Johnson, Copeland and Montgomery allowed a combined 7 OK hits (2 HR for 3 RBI) but OK's hits were timely and aided by 10 BB by our pitchers and 2 fielding errors. OK scored 6 in the 1st and 7 in the 4th and the mercy rule ended the game after our bat in the 5th. Doubleheader today. 2:30 vs Sam Houston State and 5:00 vs Iowa.
  18. Hoosiers (13-5) start off with an 8-5 win over Houston in the first game of their weekend series. Cora Bassett with 2 solo HRs and Brooke Benson with a 2-run HR and 3 RBIs for the game. Heather Johnson started on the mound and went 4.1 innings allowing 5 runs on 7 hits and 3 BB. Macy Montgomery took over and did not allow a hit but did walk 5 and put runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the 7th but ended the inning and the game with a strikeout. Next game against #1 ranked Oklahoma (20-0) scheduled to start at 7:30.
  19. Your attitude is more changeable than Indiana weather!
  20. Here's the semistate schedule for tomorrow. I believe the only way to watch is $$ through IHSAAtv.org Lafayette Jefferson (Crawley Center) 1A | 21st Century – Gary (23-4) vs. Lafayette Central Catholic (19-9) | 1 pm ET / 12 pm CT 4A | Chesterton (28-0) vs. Kokomo (20-7) | 3 pm ET / 2 pm CT Elkhart (North Side Gym) 2A | Central Noble (27-2) vs. Carroll (Flora) (24-1) | 4 pm ET / 3 pm CT 3A | Mishawaka Marian (23-3) vs. Leo (21-5) | 6 pm ET / 5 pm CT Washington (Hatchet House) 3A | Beech Grove (20-6) vs. Sullivan (25-2) | 1 pm ET / 12 pm CT 4A | Indianapolis Cathedral (24-6) vs. Bloomington North (24-3) | 3 pm ET / 2 pm CT Seymour (Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium) 1A | Jac-Cen-Del (22-5) vs. North Daviess (25-3) | 4 pm ET / 3 pm CT 2A | Eastern Hancock (22-5) vs. Providence (19-6) | 6 pm ET / 5 pm CT
  21. Creighton's Ryan Kalkbrenner (knee) will miss the rest of the NCAA Tournament, per Greg McDermott's Twitter page. Recovery time is 2-3 months. Averages 13.1 PPG and 7.7 RPG. They play Kansas tomorrow.
  22. Through six completed games in the NCAA Tournament, the Big Ten is shooting 24.1% from 3-point range. Remove Rutgers' 11-27 outing against Notre Dame, and the other five Big Ten performances were a dreadful 18.5%.
  23. We're technically oversigned by 3 as it is so the staff has to have a darn good feel that there is a 4th player who will depart before we can start throwing out more offers. And then we need to make sure that the 4th commit fills a true need and isn't just a shiny toy.
