Now that's a gross erroneous exaggeration. Some yes; some no as to both points, i.e., next head coach and after 1 year.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. I'm about to move (not delete) a number of posts related to Fife's departure out of this thread into the recently created Fife Leaving thread. If you want to comment on Fife's departure please do so in that thread. Thanks everyone. -
I follow an untold number of Twitter accounts that relate to IU basketball and I will tell you that there is not a universal moaning and groaning. Many have in so many words expressed the same words and thoughts that several on btb already have about Dane. Again, I'm not happy it happened but when you're in management there are times you have to make unpopular management decisions. I've been there and done that and I know a lot of you have as well.

OMG, the sky is falling. Panic in the streets. Would there be such hand wringing if it were Hunter or Rosemond? Fife will be replaced and we'll move forward just like if TJD doesn't come back or any other key members of this year's team move on. I hate that it's happened but it is what it is. Didn't work out so a change had to be made.

This one's more easy to read than the first one I posted.

(2022) PF Malik Reneau to INDIANA
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Keep in mind that 43% was an extemely small sample on 3s and actually so was the FT % since he only attempted 20 in the 14 games I have with complete game stats. As someone else mentioned Montverde and several other of the basketball factories could more than hold their own against some college teams with the talent they have on their rosters. @Demo correct me if I'm way off base but IMO Reneau was at best Montverde's 3rd scoring option and maybe it's 4th. Scoring simply wasn't in his job description with the other talent on the court. -
From an On The Radar event yesterday Caleb Wilson – AE5 Rimrockers Basketball – 2025 Wilson is the lone freshman to make the list after this event. He earned it. The 6-8 forward has a wealth of skill and physical tools. Wilson can handle the ball facing the basket and he can lead the break with confidence. He displayed unique vision as a passer in the open floor. He even showed a confident pull-up jumper off the right-hand bounce, which is a sign of things to come. Although he is mastering many of these perimeter skills, he still shows the willingness to mix it up on the interior as a shot blocker and rebounder. This type of versatility will be key for him as he begins his ascension in years to come.

(2023) - PF Coen Carr
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
From an On The Radar event yesterday - Coen Carr – Georgia Stars – 2023 If one were to argue that Carr was not the most productive player of the weekend it would be a losing argument. The left-handed wing got it done on both ends of the court. He has a motor that always runs high. Add in the fact that he can score the ball in several ways, and it is easy to see why there is plenty of buzz around Carr coming out of the weekend. He finished with 29 points in a Sunday win over AE5 Basketball. He did it with 3-pointers, transition dunks, and acrobatic finishes in the lane. He visited Indiana at the beginning of this month. -

Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Here's a summary of his current season. Scoring and rebounding are for 17 games, other stats for 14 games and he played far more than 17 games but those are the only games for which individual stats were posted. 11.9 pts on 58% FG; 43% on 3s; 50% FT; 6 reb; 1 asst; 1 stl; 1 blk; 2 TO. He only attempted 7-3s and 20 FT. -

2022-2023 IUBB Roster Projection

Agree. I'd love to have Race return, but I'd much prefer 2 more years of JG vs a single year of Race. -

Class of '66 Old Fart replied to IUc2016's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Personally, I'm not entralled with going into the portal and grabbing a kid I know I'll only have for 1 year and I've got to turn around and replace him again next year. I'd prefer a Sparks simply because at least going in, I'll have him for more than a single season. Now having said that, I'm well aware that with the landscape the way it is, I'm not guaranteed to have any player for more than a single season but I'd still opt for the younger player vs. a known 1-year rental.
