Wishful thinking but I'd like to get a verbal from him before he leaves Bloomington. We talk about dominoes falling and maybe getting his commit could be a catalyst for 1 or 2 of our other targets. -

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Eliminates a lot of worthless contact for him from schools he has no interest in. Actually good for the schools that were cut - they can stop spinning their wheels and move on with their recruiting efforts. -
In most respects, he had a better junior year than did his teammate Grant Gelon but there's clearly something about his game that doesn't attract any major D1 interest.

Nate Sudfeld - Detroit Lions
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to ccgeneral's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Follow-up to the 2 previous posts from 247: Redskins rookie Nate Sudfeld shines in debut The 6-foot-6 signal caller led the Redskins to their only two touchdown drives of Thursday night’s preseason opener against the Falcons. “It was a lot of fun to play, it’s been awhile since I’ve actually gotten to play and be live and stuff, so getting those first few hits felt really good, kind of [to] get back in the rhythm of things,” Sudfeld said. “Guys were playing really well, it’s fun to play with the guys. I thought the offense when I was in, the offense in general was pretty sharp, we just have to clean up some penalties but it was a lot of fun to play.” Sudfeld completed 10-of-15 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown, which was to tight end Marcel Jensen. “Yeah it felt really good, but it was really our O-line was blocking on some individual runs, running backs were running really well, there was really good protection when I was throwing the ball and guys were making some good catches,” Sudfeld said. “I’m a quarterback, I’m a part of the puzzle, so I thought I did alright but the guys around me had a really good performance as well.” Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy are mentoring the rookie. Cousins had impactful advice for Sudfeld ahead of Thursday’s performance. “They were in my ear all week and then all day and then during the game,” Sudfeld said. “So it was really good to have those guys. Before the game Kirk said, ‘Let go and let God in,’ and I really took that to heart and it’s fun. I feel like I’ve trained hard for this and I felt prepared out there so I just went and had a good time and tried to play with a smile on my face and march us downfield so it was fun.” -
Wichita State suspends coach Gregg Marshall for exhibition game "I visited with Coach Marshall this morning to inform him that he is suspended for this afternoon's final exhibition game in Canada," interim athletic director Darron Boatright said in a statement. "While I understand the competitive spirit that accompanies coaching, there remains a standard of professional behavior that is inherent in a position of leadership that we all must meet. That standard was not met last night." Marshall was hit with a pair of technicals Tuesday night and was ejected from the contest against McGill University. He was then restrained by several players and assistant coaches while trying to get to one of the officials. Wichita State trailed 58-56 at the time of his ejection. The Shockers won the game 77-71. Earlier Wednesday, Marshall told ESPN that he was frustrated with the manner the game was called by the officials. "There were players with stitches, concussions, not keeping score accurately, a bloodbath, then touch fouls on us," Marshall told ESPN's Andy Katz. "I'm not happy nor proud of the reaction but when is enough, enough? I want my players to know I've got their back. Once ejected, I wanted the ref to know exactly my impression of his work." In a statement released by the school, Marshall said he accepted the university's decision to suspend him. "I fully accept the decision of the athletic department and the University," Marshall said in a statement. "As a program we expect to represent Wichita State University in a manner in which we can all be proud of, on and off the court. Last night, in my attempt to stand up for, and protect, my team I fell short of those expectations. I will gladly sit out tonight's game in hopes that a lesson can be learned that it's not just about doing the right thing, but doing it the right way."

We've apparently started watching '18 David Singleton a 6' 4" SG from Bishop Montgomery HS in Torrance, CA. http://247sports.com/Player/David-Singleton-88157 http://www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/203663/david-singleton This snippet is from ScoutHoops back in Sept. '15: 2018 Bishop Montgomery SG David Singleton getting early recruiting interest David Singleton had a successful weekend at the Fullcourt Press All Frosh/Soph Camp, which should be sure to help propel his recruitment. One of SoCal’s most productive guards in 2018 comes from Torrance (Calif.) Bishop Montgomery in David Singleton. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound shooting guard is a versatile player who will likely be able to play multiple perimeter positions in college given his shooting, motor, passing and rebounding ability. Singleton prides himself in doing what it takes to help his team win. “It depends what we need,” Singleton said. “If we have a small lineup I’ll play big and in a bigger lineup I’ll handle the ball. I’ll shoot, play inside or rebound; whatever it takes. I’m trying to get better at everything. No one is perfect.” So far, Singleton has had UCLA, California, Stanford, USC, Oregon State and Pepperdine by his school to watch him workout. When his recruitment picks up, one attribute in a program will be especially important. “Education is most important for me,” he said. -
