Not a sexy hire, 70% of Indiana fans are going to say out loud “Who” when they read the headline this evening. Shocking to an extent, but coaches don’t want to leave their current spots anymore. Pearl, Greg, Few, etc., Will we be here again in four years? Could be, I wouldn’t be surprised. But I hope this hire works out. Woodson never should’ve been hired in the first place, hopefully this is a legit replacement. I hope he builds a solid staff around him. EDIT: Some further thoughts, Will Stevens end up at Butler next year when his daughter is out of high school? Got that would be a kick in the nuts. First letting Dusty May go and potentially seeing Stevens return home a year after our opening.

We know where Indiana basketball stands amongst coaching searches. Louisville and Kentucky didn’t hire the big fish, neither did OSU. Is this the new normal? Yes it’s the new normal. A time where legends are retiring sooner than anticipated, AD’s search for new names to fill the voids.

We haven’t had a Scott Drew discussion in a week. Should we switch over to him at the top of the hour?

Woodson to Darian would be a choice, could work out, may not. I think this is his agent and media speculation at this point with his name blowing up. Would there be this much smoke if they made the tourney currently? No.

Good morning, busy morning over here! With the Pete news, this checks out as I reported Ben is the #1 target for Iowa. I don't believe Darian is a candidate for Indiana. If we have an announcement this week, it's Stevens, Billy, or Jay still IMO.

Zach confirmed that. This is all smoke from agents and fans and media.

One thing I've considered as well, It was a down year in the Big 12 this year, typically the best conference in America. He did okay for first year there, but I wonder how he would've done if it were a more normal year for the conference?

Thats exactly what it is. Let's not forget what Zach said yesterday on his Podcast. This smells very similar to the left field Kelvin Sampson hire according to him.

I find it so hilarious that the chatter for Darian was so minimal last week compared to Brownell. Now that WVU didn't make the tournament, he's the new Brownell but slightly more accepted here.

To be fair, most hires would be better for Indiana than Woodson.

Darian would not be discussed today if they didn’t miss out on the dance last night. This is clearly twitter talk with media speculating too.

Well despite how delusional some (most) of us are, both of those names didnt get us out of bed a month ago. Frankly, it’s going to take a while for either of those names to get the general fan base excited. Dolson hiring another mid major is a choice.

Fans and media pushing a name that just became “available” since missing the tourney. This is normal, I wouldn’t take too much into the talk.

Exactly why we saw the name Brownell on this board and honestly McCollum. Darian’s name is now Brownell name after missing the tourney. Agents pushing their guy, no one knows besides Dobson. Was Darian on Dolson’s list a month ago when he fired Woodson? Likely not until the bottom 5-10.
