Good point and it’s true things have gotten worse (and it seems unbelievable that it has been almost 20 years since Sampson). I think the answer is money, NIL and resources. Coaching is an ego driven profession so I think some of the better ones could be convinced. It would no doubt be expensive but could provide fans a sense of taking it seriously and with urgency

I agree with you. May has looked good and has IU history but we need to set our sights on a proven power 5 coach if we are conducting the search right. We poached Sampson from Oklahoma and my guess is we’d have another banner if not for all the shenanigans.

This is typical IU. Woodson would not have been considered for any other high level college job. Is there any coach in the B1G that you can say he’s clearly better than? I used to dread the talk of an Alford hiring but that doesn’t scare me anymore……..

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!

I’m not sure his ego can spare a few years of getting it in full gear…..and I love it! -
Do you believe that if we can win one of the next two that we would be back at least in the discussion?

There used to be a time when fixing games was illegal and now they just call it big ten officiating -

Nothing is going to change as long as we are in the big ten. These officials aren’t working on accident -

Getting hosed in our own house, listening to Hummel defend it. Hope football expansion can rid us of the big ten -

More ranting (thanks to all for this thread) but B1G offiating really? How does a guy get hit in the head, the foul gets reviewed and the guy getting hit gets tossed? X may have made a dirty play (debatable) but he clearly got cheap shotted himself. If two players fight then they both should be tossed. I guess it’s ok to tee off on an opposing player if you are “justified”

I agree 100% with this. I’d add that I think the team takes on his personality and there is usually little intensity or sense of urgency. Some of this falls on the players too. No visible leadership on the court and the team just hasn’t gelled. Just missing a true alpha guy.

You’d think he transferred to Purdue with that gesture.

I believe for WR we still have Omar Cooper and Andison Coby as well (unless I missed their announcements

Did things go south with the JMU QB and others or is Rourke our number one priority at QB?

In all fairness I used to root for other B1G teams in football and basketball but it seems like the conference is more concerned with money grabbing and having their thumb on the scale for which teams are successful. Maybe it’s always been like this and I was naive but you can’t unsee a conference changing the rules to keep a team out of the championship game. Forget loyalty to the B1G for me

The only thing I’ll add is that if all the rumors are true, good for IU and our fan base. Imagine being in a recruit/families’ head so much that he is so concerned with attempting to troll our fans and makes himself look stupid and immature in the process. Living rent free in their head. He will fit in perfect at a school like Rutgers!
