IUBB vs Northwestern - 12/23/20 @ 8:30 ET on BTN

Maybe Archie should just rip into the team to start the game. Looks like a completely different team, shame they can't get themselves ready to play for a full 40 -

Surely he could have provided some defense there, was surprised he didn't get any run that half. -

Watched closely at the end there of our offensive sets. It dribble weave at the top followed typically by a ball screen at the top and if that isn't open immediately for a drive to the basket, then rinse and repeat until they are forced to finally chuck a desperation shot. Problem is the people running it, Phinisee is far to slow with the ball to turn the corner forcing the defense to recover and there isn't a dead-eye shooter locked to the wing to open up that driving lane. What you are left with is the jumbled mess that you see on the screen. Makes little sense to me. Just lock TJD on the block and force it to him until they stop it. So frustrating to watch - at times I envy to watch the first Crean teams that ran an offense that didn't match their personnel, at least those team gave 100% effort -

I'll say this about this year's Hoosiers, when we go bad, we go full bad...and no team should ever go full bad -

They are going to go straight at Lander and Hunter -
What is happening to this board? Start Leal? Please. I will say if Lander doesn't play nearly 30 minutes, I thinks it's a missed opportunity. Lander needs minutes, and he won't find much this season as it continues until he can get his footing at this level. This isn't directed at you Clapper but: This forum is a funny place sometime. Lots of pointing to GBI and how toxic that place becomes - I've only ventured over there a few times but this place can't be much different after IU loses. Think there should be some perspective here. Yes, we still are very poor shooting team and that's incredibly frustrating, but we went to overtime on the road against a very good FSU team without Brunk - who I assume can still at least rebound. We lost by 2 against the 20th team in the country despite, giving up two possessions from rebounds off their own free-throw and I recall a critical turnover/foul from TJD after a rebound and failed outlet (I think that was a block, but still free points). Clean that up, make a shot and we're talking instead of how scrappy and how much of a hardfought win that was on the road rather than our failed shooting for 4 years and how this team will get waxed in the Big10. Sunshine pumping? Eh, maybe? Just let things play out this season before we starting generating the lists of the next coach. Just my $0.02

I just don't buy the rationale that firing Archie means an automatic rebuild. The next coach wouldn't be inheriting an empty roster like Crean inherited or left Archie when he lost momentum on the recruiting trail. Does Archie need to recruit better? Without a doubt, but there's some pieces here, I just don't know if they are being put into a position to succeed consistently enough. I'm still hopeful Archie turns this around, today was, hopefully and simply, a bad day. The shooting is still bad, but I'm still not entirely sure I can see what's trying to be accomplished on the offensive end. If the plan is to pound it to TJD, he'll need to play far better as the competition continues to improve.
