  1. Lander is shooting 23% on the season. He may be able to shoot in HS, but he's not some savior of this team. Same with Leal. If they were the answers this team was searching for they'd be playing 30 minutes. Should Lander be playing more, certainly, but he's not going to instantly make us a exceptional offensive team simply by playing over Rob. If anything I see Archie going to have to go to a PG by committee approach, some Rob, some Al, some Lander. Play the hot hand, something's going to give as the team needs some stability from the PG position.
  2. The ball just doesn’t move when he has it. He dribbles a lot and really without much purpose. At one point Illinois sagged off of him in the first half as they knew he wasn’t a threat to shoot so they clogged the lane and were able to pick Franklin once from it. So disappointing as I was hoping a healthy Rob would finally take a leap forward Edit: He did play much better and more aggressive in the second half which this team needs more of, as the PG position is a glaring weak spot
  3. Any offense where TJD is up at the top of the key handing the ball off is the wrong one
  4. Was he carrying that? Sure looked like it to me
  5. So Franklin is our best player, right? Smooth
  6. Might try Galloway, I'm assured the ball would at least move.
  7. They are 2-10 from 3. We need to come out with the same intensity to start the 2nd as we did to start the game, as I don't expect that to continue as they had plenty of open looks in the 1st half
  8. Our offense is so ugly, it's hard to watch the majority of times
  9. I fear this is more about Illinois poor shooting, they've gotten several good looks from deep that we've been fortunate they've missed.
  10. That's what I don't get. If the NBA is looking for more shooting from their big men, what would be in the appeal in TJD without a jump shot? It's clear that hasn't improved significantly from his FR to SO years, so why is it assumed he's NBA bound. Just don't get it, if he wants to be a Tristan Thompson type then so be it, but what's he doing nowadays without LeBron and Kardashians. I just don't see TJD defensive game carrying him to the NBA until his offensive game can take a leap or two
  11. Someone got better under Archie? You don't say!
  12. Is Leal playing a zone, he's been a minute late on two closeouts in a row
  13. Why not give Geronimo run over Hunter, lose some shooting, but I'd suspect the defense and rebounding would improve. Hunter is just so clueless and when he's not hitting from outside I'm not sure what he provides
  14. It's not just been that set though, he's so slow with the ball off the ball screen. I just want to see a ball handler get down hill and go to the basket off one of those. Need a Yogi so bad
  15. At the very least not on the same side of the court. Was the blind leading the blind over there figuring out what they're running
  16. Holy cow, wasted 15 seconds getting the ball up the court and figuring out what play to run. The ball and offense just dies when Rob is in, simple as that. Hate to say it, but the results are troubling
  17. Leal before Lander? Quite interesting
  18. IU needs a point guard that can beat someone off the dribble and a Audige type who can create his own shot off the bounce when things break down in the worst way. If that comes in a single player so be it, but Rob and Al dribbling the air out of the ball isn't working
  19. Point guard play tonight with 3:01 to go (Lander and Phinisee): 2-5 FG, 1-3 3PT, 3 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 1 TO
  20. Hunter must be lights out in practice. I just am not seeing what he provides out there when the lights are on, rather see Geronimo.
  21. Durham had to get one in tonight. Couldn't have picked a worse time for it unfortunately. What was that!
