Just saw the trailer for the new Marc Maron doc, “Are We Good?” Like Maron a lot, but was on the fence about it because I thought it might be a little rough watching 90 mins about his significant other passing and rebuilding his life. Then I saw the trailer and the music playing over it is Farewell Transmission by the great Jason Molina.and Songs: Ohia. That is literally God saying, “D, you need to see this.” Sometimes the universe gives you no choice.

Was told the same thing by the friend who bought our tickets for Baylor. Row 1 balcony were like $90 and last row lower bowl were $160 or some such. Kind of nuts.

Wherever he lands I’m gonna sort of follow this kid just for my own curiosity. Saw him play twice live and a couple of games streamed last year and I just don’t get it. He’s not untalented, I just don’t see what’s special. He has a really deliberate stroke and needs space to get it off. He’s really physical but he doesn’t have a particularly quick 1st step so he’s constantly playing through guys because he can’t get a shoulder ahead. He plays hard, he moves and cuts well, he doesn’t stop the ball, which his McDAA teammate Isaiah Harwell did all the time, he competes on defense. But a lot of kids do that. I am just as happy with Moody as I would be with County, probably more so because Moody has PG traits and County doesn’t. But he has a really good list so I guess I’m missing something.

Would be pretty surprised if it’s not KU. From all indications he’s been their #1 big and they were at basically all his stuff this summer whereas they weren’t with Taylor. Maybe after 2 years of the Hunter Dickinson experience Self has sworn off jumbo bigs.

Wouldn’t think there are any because Rupp is so much bigger than most arenas. Also explains why they don’t play Maui or Atlantis-type events if they’re more dependent on home game ticket revenue than everyone else. Got to be pretty embarrassing for UKFB if they’re the only top conference school in that boat.

This. The pulse thing is a problem. Every Ryder Cup every Euro looks like there’s nowhere they’d rather be and 75% of the Americans look like they ate bad chicken at the event dinner. Been that way for 30 years, even when the Americans won. They need to just let the captain pick the entire team, no automatic qualifiers, and some guys need to look in the mirror and admit to themselves that this isn’t their environment and they’d be fine with not playing. I’ll take a couple of less talented guys who aren’t spooked.

Really? Wonder how that would work? Partizan announced his signing yesterday. So he’d play a year in the top EuroLeague and then go to college for a year? Pretty sure that would be a 1st. Guess we’ll see.

Well said. And everything about this one felt like it could easily go bad. Big win last week. Huge game next. Classic trap. Well coached, experienced opponent. Tough environment. Homecoming. 1st road game. All of it. And they got a couple of breaks and found enough to get it done. Very nice. The one concerning thing, to me at least, was that the right side of the OL really got worked. That feels pretty problematic going forward. But, hey, 16-2 in the last year and a half is so far beyond any reasonable expectations that you have to be a complete moron to complain.

Agree. Though there was some stuff there that felt off, as the 1st road game of the year against a well-coached team in a very tough environment it’s easy to argue that’s the best win so far in Cig’s tenure. Certainly better than any win last year.
