  1. https://247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/North-Carolina-Kentucky-Arizona-DePaul-Florida-State-Georgetown-Gonzaga-Michigan-Minnesota-basketball-recruiting-2022-five-star-Skyy-Clark-148854692/Amp/?__twitter_impression=true No mention of Indiana. My favorite part is Clark extolling the virtues of how Patrick Ewing uses his guards at Georgetown and does it by pointing to James Akinjo and Mac McClung, who’ve left the program.
  2. Per Mike Schumann, CAM spoke today with North Central PG Leland Walker. First I remember hearing of contact between the program and Walker.
  3. https://arkansas.rivals.com/news/smith-brings-versatility-to-arkansas-as-a-grad-transfer Love this article. Musselman is a smart, smart guy. Puts out in the public arena exactly what Justin and his family want to hear(playing some 2, increased 3pt looks, creating his own offense off the bounce) when in reality he’s gonna do none of those things.
  4. UK apparently offered today, per Corey Evans. Seems too symmetrical not to happen.
  5. Given that Wesley isn’t a very physical kid that actually strikes me as a really good pure basketball fit with all 5 out they run and all of the 3’s they generate. I like it.
  6. In the games I’ve able to find he reminds of a more offensively talented Hassan Diarra. Just a really tough, competitive, high effort kid. And I’ve always had a weakness for kids who also play football.
  7. See, being able to parse a subtle, non statement like that one is EXACTLY what we’ve missed in your absence.
  8. Underwood ran a lot less spread last year than he had in the past because Cockburn’s skillset really doesn’t work as a pinch post. But after a RS year this kid seems to be a great fit.
  9. West side of St Louis, so a couple of hours. The last couple of years haven’t gotten to see nearly as many events as I used to. So, depending on conditions, would like to do Marshall County, Bass T of C and Quincy Shootout this year. Quincy and Bass have really good fields. We’ll see.
  10. Gabe Wiznitzer to Louisville. Know CAM barely kicked the tires here, but I’ll always remember this kid for his awesome “highlight” reel that consisted of 5 minutes of other guys making plays.
  11. If this sound hot takish, oh well, but to me Cassius Winston might be the best pure PG to play in the Big Ten since Isiah. Love him. 2nd team is just deeply stupid.
  12. Casey and Mohammed are playing at the Quincy Shootout, which is a nice little 2 day event at the end of January. Really looking forward to watching Casey live, assuming we’re able to congregate by then.
  13. I’ll be on Mohammed until he goes elsewhere. But you may be right about him being the best fit here. In the couple of games of Longino’s I was able to find, he is such an efficient kid. Doesn’t force shots. Doesn’t force his way into traffic. And that kid makes everything. Gave me a strong Klay Thompson vibe. Not gonna create much for himself, but he’ll be a monster running off screens. And I really like his frame and physicality for the B1G.
  14. Not sure I’ve seen a kid play down an offer quite that pointedly, at least not lately. But of the 3 2’s CAM has offered, Wesley is easily my #3.
  15. Not sure of the timing, but a quick perusal of his follows shows that he does, in fact, follow Archie and IUMBB and nothing from the other schools. Also follows John Camden.
  16. Great question: off the top of my head: Joby Wright, Jim Thomas, Jeff Newton, Michael Lewis and Mike Woodson. Yeah, everyone knows Woodson was great, but I think he was the best and most versatile pure scorer at IU not named Calbert Cheaney in my basketball lifetime. So I absolutely consider him underrated.
  17. Louis Lesmond to Harvard, per Bossi.
  18. https://www.dailyherald.com/amp-article/20200612/sports/200619763/?__twitter_impression=true Nice article. Also confirms the obvious: that Justin and his parents have a fundamental misunderstanding of some of Justin’s shortcomings. Really seems convinced that his ineffectiveness on the wing was a function of development and use, which is just flat wrong.
  19. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/10450671/5e74fda7e985870d2cbdb473 Not as ridiculous as it appears at first blush. Yeah, the body is a mile away and the athleticism may or may not get there. But he can run. Hands look fine. Has a little jump hook over either shoulder and seems to finish comfortably with both hands. The shot looks clean and flashes range. Would like to see much more, obviously, but the kid looks like kind of the textbook example of a redshirt candidate.
  20. If you want to watch a full game of Thornton, this is a REALLY good one. Grayson has Deivon Smith, who’s a 4-star ‘20 PG going to Miss St. He has a good game. Thornton has a great one. He’s a fun kid to watch. Has some Chris Paul to his game. With the exception of a couple of plays late, he was always under control. Very patient. Really plays with vision. Shows a lot of variety in his offensive game. Passes were crisp and accurate. Made 3 separate really good defensive plays. Oh, and he pretty much made everything. Scores at all 3 levels. Finished with 40 or so. If this is one of the games that Archie watched, yeah, you make an exception to your offer rule here. btw: it’s a really good game, goes down to the buzzer.
  21. Ok, this is the best thing I’ve read today: per Baumgart JaQuan Lyle has graduated from UNM and is looking to grad transfer to help his draft stock. If he plays somewhere he would finish the year at 25.
  22. Agree. I like that system and pace a lot for him.
  23. Apparently going to Arkansas, per Brian Snow. Musselman is a flat out closer with transfers.
  24. 2 things from this: 1) team captain as a Freshman is impressive as hell, love it. 2) “Miller obtained two game films, and that was enough,” evokes images of Archie watching black and white reel to reel of Thornton lacin’ ‘em up verses Terhune.
