Indiana vs Wake Forest Game Thread (9/24 - 3:30 PM - BTN)
VO5 replied to Dalton26's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Really hope Camion can play today. Excited to see his skill set -
And that is your right. I want IU to be on the national scene every year and winning national championships. I'm not saying we need a full team of one and dones who don't go to class, and that is really only the case of UK. We can take a page from the Duke, Kansas, and Arizona model, where they get a 1nD or 2 every year sprinkled in with top 50 recruits. It's doable for IU imo. We have all the resources and one of best, if not the best, fanbases in the country.
-
People love to complain about the Duke, Kansas, and UK types. The reality is they win and recruit at the highest level. They have their own brand and kids grow up dreaming to play for them, which isn't the case for IU right now. I would love to have their results (less so UK because they are the one school that is almost solely one and dones) and everyone else here would be ecstatic if we brought in the recruits they do. So yes, I would love to be in their shoes.

This exactly. We shouldn't have to go after players such as Moore.
-
Sounds like our next commit. Count me in the crowd that isn't a fan of this.

Our boy Thomas got a Twitter. If any of you guys have one, go follow him: nolimittb31
-
The reality is, we're a basketball school where students just don't really care that much about football. We'll need to win more consistently for attendance to ever change. Beating an MSU, OSU, or UM could do wonders for us attendance wise, but until that happens and we go to bowls regularly I don't think you'll see much of a change with students.
-
Exactly. If we get say, a Richards or Gak, sure take a player like him. But if we can't get another big I don't see the need
-
Very true. But I don't want our backup 5 thinking he's a wing player on offense either. We need someone besides DD in the post
-
I'm sorry but for me personally, if he's not a post player I'd say no thanks. We have enough guards and wings as it is. If Thomas leaves we'll have 1 big on the roster.

I just don't understand why we can't hold off on offering a kid like this until our targets that we've invested years in decide. Makes zero sense

Post Game Discussion: Indiana 34 - FIU 13

Great job, happy to get the win. Loved the D, offense still leaves a lot to be desired but a win is a win! -
Prediction League: Game 1: Indiana at FIU

27-14 IU -
This I can get behind. The selection committee gets more laughable every year
-
He said yogi's freshman year, where we had yogi and hulls as our starters. We've been just fine when Yogi had JBJ and RJ with him. He's referencing the same thing if we get Waters because we won't have to worry about another 6 foot guard being beside him. Reading comprehension is your friend
-
I just think that's how he is. Not really a "shell". Supposedly a hilarious dude as well
-
I like this lineup, but I would almost consider it a lock that JBJ starts. Not that I want him to, I just know that's what Crean will do.
-
This is the first year in a while where I am absolutely PUMPED for our out of conference schedule. There are some big name teams like Kansas, UL, UNC, etc. that will absolutely get us ready for conference play. If we lose a few out of conference games I won't fret, we'll be that much stronger by the end of the year. Can't wait
-
Whether I agree or not with this decision, really hoping Troy catches on somewhere and carves out a niche for a team. It's always cool seeing Hoosiers in the NBA.
-
IMO, he won't ever be playing in the NBA. Too many knee surgeries and not a lot to offer. That being said, it's a smart move to get feedback with no downside. Don't blame him at all

I feel as if that scholly would've been better used for 2017, but it's done now. Congrats to Freddie

Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets
VO5 replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Kinda random and didn't know where to put this, but Jaquan Lyle showed up to my house party today decked in OSU gear. Got some pretty good ribbing from my friends and his posse started some O-H cheers followed by I-U after. All in all doesn't seem like a bad guy, but he was loving the attention once people realized who he was -
I'll accept this guy with open arms if he comes, but even if Troy doesn't come back I would rather bank this scholly. There is so much talent in 2017 and I would much rather use it on a potential top 50 player in that class. We are already kinda loaded at his position anyway, and he's going to be a junior with limited basketball skills who can't afford to take a year or 2 to grow. Just my 2 cents
