Has there been any news of Archie talking with Justin Smith? He's the one recruit i would love to see here. Its strange that we've heard him reaching out to Durham and Moore, but not Smith.

Agreed. I just find it strange, from his comments to hanging around the program still. Most coaches get out quick after being fired.

If there are defections, I think we'll be going the grad transfer route instead of going for pure freshman. There aren't many 2017s left worth going for. The one I would really want is Mark Smith. Archie could do wonders with a PG of that caliber

I'm confident with just DD we will be at least in the tourney. Have a feeling we won't ever have to worry about an NIT selection ever again with Archie here :)

I REALLY hope Juwan stays. It seems like he is the perfect Archie player that could be molded into a beast. Really excited for his future at IU if he's around

Pretty sure he hasn't, but I could be wrong on that. I think he'll be meeting with the team sometime this upcoming week

This would be amazing, but it's not entirely up to him either. Plus if the rumors are true that he didn't take a pac12 job because Sean was already at Arizona, I doubt he will set up a game to play him every year.

We were never getting those guys. Everyone was hoping for them and that's why this is a "letdown". I wanted Donovan too, but just sat back and decided to let it play out. I was way less disappointed doing that. Read some of the circumstances of Archie's teams the past few years. Kicks 2 players off and has 6 rotation players the same year he goes to the elite 8. His starting center DIED this year and he still wins the conference. Another player tore his Achilles/ACL this year. He wins despite major roster fluctuations.

This is what I like. We are getting the complete opposite of Crean. Archie consistently wins with high 3 stars and below. Imagine when he has talent?

The more I read about Archie, the more I love this hire. I'm ecstatic about it. Finally a guy with X's and O's who comes from a coaching family. I think everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised by his recruiting. He will do great recruiting the state and the Midwest area. I really think he will turn us into an annual contender who's at least top 15-25 in down years.

I think we'll be fine in the recruiting department. He did really well as an assistant at Arizona and Ohio state. I really do hope he looks at getting an assistant who knows the state well though. I think that could only help in our recruiting efforts. Another thing is that Archie has done more with less and that's really encouraging. Imagine when he starts pulling 5 stars
