I'm really wondering what Archie is going to say to guys like Durham and Moore. OG seems to be the only guy leaving, and I would assume that is Smith's spot to take. If no one else leaves it would be an awkward situation, especially after Archie said he wants all the recruits as well. There simply isn't room.

Feeling good about this recruitment. There will be a lot of playing time available his freshman year and he would be our PG of the future.

He's a great college player, no doubt. I think he can carve out a decent niche in the league, but he will have to be drafted by the right team for that to happen. He's undersized and not overly quick or athletic for his position. He will have to make his living as a mid-range shooter and overwork people down low. He could be Zac Randolph light at his best, IMO.

Swanigan is entering the draft without hiring an agent. No idea why he wouldn't. I don't think there is any chance he can up his draft stock by coming back to college. He's maxed as a player at this level

My entire point was you can get an "Indiana guy" without actually getting a former IU player. We just need people who respect the culture and do what's right. That is why Archie is an "Indiana guy" without actually being one. Just because we had championship players doesn't mean they are championship coaches. I want people who are right for the job, regardless of where they went to school. We can absolutely get assistants who buy into the culture and our proud tradition without picking from the IU tree. That's all I'm saying

Yeah, people really need to let go of this getting an "Indiana guy" nonsense. We got an "Indiana guy" in our head coach, as many have said. We don't need a former player on our staff to get the culture or recruit Indiana. It gets so old reading all these posts clamoring for someone from the IU tree.

Yup. Was thinking of their model while typing. Not all 5 stars will be one and dones, and if we can get them to buy in for a few years it will be a recipe for sustained success.

So what is the incentive to being a clean program?
VO5 replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
There isn't. Only a moral high ground to stand on. Operating in the gray area is just how college basketball is going these days. You either adapt or die, as sad as that is. -
I think if Archie can find 5 stars who aren't one and dones we will be set. Mix that in with some 4 stars and a few hungry 3 stars and we will have nice roster balance.

One of my favorite interviews so far

Wonder if Archie has any interest in going after him

I will never understand why people like the guy. Yeah he brought us back, like it was his job to do. I guess he's a "good guy" in public.

Just listened to Crean on PTI. Wow. Brought up that he should've campaigned harder for a second start over at IU after Victor and Cody left. Then states that if he ever has to campaign for a job opening he will get out of coaching. What a joke. So glad he isn't overseeing our program anymore.
