Wish Woody loved loved loved him. Geronimo and Trey are going to be awesome energetic/glue guys if we can surround them with superior talent while they are upper classmen

He will be a more athletic and better shooting Race Thompson in 2 years. That’s not a knock on Thompson either, he has become my favorite player. I just think Geronimo has that plus another gear

I snuck out of work to run over to the United center to watch that game knowing how important it was to us. I unfortunately found out it wasn’t as important to the team as it was for me

Watching that X drive to the hoop for the slam is a good example of what getting our bigs out of the lane can do to open things up for others. The lane was wide open which is very rarely the case

We’re better all around with him. it’s not his fault we force it into him on every possession and then stand around and pass up open shots and have very few guys that can create also, while I really like Race, I don’t like those two playing together. Having two bigs under the hoop makes guard penetration impossible.

Are there stats like you mention that are bigten games only? I ask as TJD has looked like an All-American against sub-par teams in the pre-season and a 3rd team all-bigten player against better competition

I like Leal better than a Stewart. The amount of good he does doesn’t make up for the bad. Leal more of a well rounded player and not a one trick pony

Did you see his numbers they posted about him being their closer and his contributions in the last 5 minutes of games? Not surprised they are 10-1 in close games, he’s been amazing over the course of the season

TJD is what he is, which is very good, far from great. He is a “Robin” on a good team but has been forced into being “Batman” and he is just too limited in his skill set to be that. he would be a great complimentary piece to an Oladipo or Yogi but we haven’t had anything close to that min fact, I would argue that Race Thompson has become our best player this season so maybe TJD has kinda fallen into a “Robin” situation without realizing it - unfortunately they play 3 feet apart

Knights tactics and actions were not something that ages well. He was on a thin rope in the years leading up to his firing. Times were changing and he wasnt. that said, I cannot recall in the modern era a head d-1 basketball coach punching someone after a game. Pretty unprecedented and hopefully the last time we see that.

Seriously Chris, this makes no sense. So you are saying if Gard punched another man in the face after a basketball game, no one would be saying anything? he would have already been fired

It started well before that as has been pointed out. Him swearing at Gard was an escalation no? So your walking out of class and someone swears at you and keeps walking, do you not ask “wtf was that about’” words matter and speaking of words matter, he and his big mouth have now led to 3 altercations with opposing coaches and schools in the last year. There is a pattern there.

Howard plays his starters till the end. Then does a blow by and says “I’ll remember this ****” - that to me is the instigation. Gard grabbing his arm is step 2. Then after an exchange you see Gard taking steps backward away from Howard and is a good 10 feet away from Howard. Howard then, being held back by his own players throws a punch over their body and strikes the face of the UW assistant. Then UM players start throwing punches the Gard v Howard situation was diffused, they were separated, nothing severe taking place. Then Howard takes the situation from a 5 to a 10 for no reason

Is there a more underachieving team in america than Michigan right now? Elite 8, return some of their top pieces, add more 5 stars and transfers and a bubble team that should end the season without a coach and at least 2 players

I agree. I hate Wisconsin but they are not in the wrong. I actually like Gard more for coaching his subs through the end. Howard taking exception to that is a joke and he is quickly becoming one too. if anyone had the right to be pissed it was Gard - Howard was the one still playing his starters to the end in a blow out and full court pressing Wisconsin’s subs. I don’t mind anyone playing till the very end but Howard wanted to do it but was appalled that Gard kinda did

Yes this is incorrect. There was no UW player nor staffer touching Howard nor any of his players nor staff when the incident happened. In fact, Howard had to lunge over his own players to strike Krabbwnhoft in the face. Howard punching someone has nothing to do with UW players being dirty or not and his own explanation of the situation also confirms that.

This had nothing to do with the refs though. This has everything to do with Michigan getting destroyed on the court and wisconsin coaching their players the full 40 and Howard being a whiney b that has repeatedly thrown hissy fits

I’m a competitive person and have wanted to punch opposing players, coaches and fans a million times but you just can’t. And you certainly can’t when you are the head coach. it’s one thing for the players to get into it in the heat of the moment, absolutely ridiculous for coaches after the game is already over

Didn’t he say something like that last time when he went after Turgeon? that’s a funny answer from him because He is like twice the size of Gard, but also because he didn’t hit Gard and also because he threw the punch way after he was separated from Gard.
