  1. There really is no cheating now. Almost everything is on the table now - it’s the wild Wild West and we keep getting thrown through the storefront window
  2. I can think of a ton of ways IU could help matters and it wouldn’t take much. one idea that just came to me in the shower is a “team owned” affiliate platform. An IT, Web Developer or Marketing major sets up an affiliate platform with proper coding and affiliate link tracking and the players can pick up products and deals from brands all over the country to promote and get payed as they go/as they convert people. These affiliate platforms can makes tens of millions of dollars a year. They have to push out ads, articles, emails etc to drive traffic - our players already have that via their social handles wouldnt take much and could drives hundreds of thousands of dollars per player per year
  3. Is Woody out fundraising for NIL, for his guys? There are IU alumna, likely in his age bracket that are running massive corporations within Bloomington, Indianapolis etc that are the keys to his recruiting. Fans matter i work in ad sales and there are giant pools of money for various initiatives, influencer budgets, social budgets etc. It wouldn’t take much at all to impact Woodys and our teams success. imagine a world in which woody, already doing “ok” in recruiting can now showcase a pipeline of support from businesses that are truly committed to the players and programs. It’s not a promise, it’s a history now that potential recruits can see playing out for them too. we pay some of our influencers up to $30k for a tweet or IG Story - everyone establishes their own market value and there is nothing to stop Cook or others from pouring it on. They just aren’t and I cannot figure out why
  4. We are not an NCAA tourney team. You are of course free to think what you want but incompetence has run rampant throughout IU athletics for quite some time. Our failures this season is not isolated. The university has sabotaged our basketball program for decades and there are hundreds of examples of this. we didn’t just suck this season, there was a lot that lead up to it and until things are changed, we will continue to suck. The administration has to want it and until they do, it doesn’t matter. While I am sick of the Duke and coach K love tonight, the video of him telling his players “am I mad about what happened, your damn right I am, but it doesn’t matter until you are mad too.” that goes for the administration- they don’t care that we suck, the music plays on, they sell popcorn, tickets, candy stripe pants and think that will continue for eternity or at least through their tenure so they are complacent and think everything is fine
  5. Yes it does. This isn’t an isolated incident. This is systemic. Listen to what everyone has been saying
  6. Did it? It hasn’t done anything. If you mean that we will continue to field a team, sure. yes the school would likely still give out uniforms and scholarships even if we had 0 fans show up for games but that is irrelevant. The most dominate thing about IU basketball the past 20 years has been the fans. we continue to make money for the school by buying tickets, watching television, buying gear etc. They haven’t done their equal part. I don’t think they truly realize how fortunate they are and that it won’t last forever. there is no going back for many of us, but those that are vested like many of us are no longer being born like they used to be. Whether the folks on here walk away or not is irrelevant, it’s about future fanatics and they aren’t growing up passionate about IU like generations past. we are the program and when we are gone, we will be nothing more than a Penn State or Nebraska unless the administration and staff can move mountains and do so quickly
  7. Thus my point. IU hasn’t has a good coach nor won in 20 years. The fans have been the program despite all that. If it came down to winning, we wouldn’t be here
  8. You don’t really mean that. If he and every disappointed IU fan stopped this program would be officially dead. Indiana basketball is not the players, not the coaches, it’s the fans. There was a time it was all three but it hasn’t for 20 years. The fanbase is all we have. I hate it when people say, if you don’t like it, leave.
  9. For $7 million a year we could have had the majority of coaches in D-1 we just chose not to and went with the choice the older fans would be ok with until it was proven unsuccessful
  10. You mean when they won the bigten championship 2 times in 7 years, when they made the tourney and went to the round of 32? I would happily win 18 games if it meant making the tourney and getting to the round of 32.
  11. I just expected more fundamentals. Motion, screening, cutting, and it’s not there. Players that can guard or refuse to and don’t work to get open on offense dominate the MPG. it’s lunacy
  12. And In crunch time on defense he leaves them in. At the very least, sub offense for defense and vise versa. Anything is better than watching them get torched every night
  13. But you see multiple players improving and stepping up every season for Wisconsin. Not at IU and not this year.
  14. That’s exactly how it works. When you self report you amplify the sanctions that would have never come otherwise. If you haven’t noticed, that is about the only way to get in trouble and we went that route
  15. No. Crean cleaned house. Ie - Eli Holman throwing a plant at him
  16. Partially true. We fired a guy that had us headed for a top seed in the tourney that sent our season into the crapper. by firing and self reporting we also amplified the sanctions on this program that made this a tougher sell to incoming coaches and also virtue signaled that if you slip up we will get rid of you. Thus we hired clean Crean and he was told that running a clean program was key, this him letting go the good players that were trouble makers. it was Sampson but more so the university that set the tone for everything that has happened since
  17. We lost so many games that we had no business losing including tonight. A coach and team that doesn’t know how to win, how to close games out. That has been the season As soon as we got up by 10 I owned DraftKings to bet on Rutgers because I had no faith they would step on their throats. Hey proved that over and over and over that they can outplay a team for 30 minutes and lose. They did again tonight
  18. Our kids skip classes now and there is drug use…
  19. This is soooooo wrong. Woody has been begging for this job for decades
  20. Just a giant exhale is all I can do. all of us saw this coming, many from early in the season. Flawed roster that lacks competitive nature combined with strange coaching decisions equals not making the tournament so sad because it didn’t need to be this way. There was enough talent on the roster to be in the tourney and that was all we needed to have a shred of momentum
  21. Your “crock” comment was in regards to Steven’s and as almost everyone knows, his dream job was IU and he would have left Butler to come to IU had it not been for the NBA ever finally calling and that closed that door. what is a crock and what does it have to do with Steven’s?
  22. Parker Stewart led the team in minutes tonight…
