It’s his first game, he is going to be one of our top players on both sides of the ball -

Eric Suhr always seemed to make the right plays when he was out there. Definitely a Charlie hustle type but I always felt comfortable with him out their even though he was an undersized walk on -
They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

No. poor coaching can be masked by superior talent. We should have the superior talent in almost every game this year but we won’t win almost every game this year. Coach K could win a natty with this roster but with Woodson I don’t think that is even in the realm of possibility -

I’m likely in the minority but I would rather see IU win the bigten tourney than the regular season. 2 reasons: 1) we’ve never won it which is crazy awful and 2) it would show us peaking at the right time -

We will play for than 31 games… so yes, 25 wins is a failure in my opinion given this roster for perspective, Purdue has had MORE than 25 wins, so 26+ in 7 of the last 9 seasons -

Great, agreed! but I think he will do just enough to retain his job and that sucks if so. 28 wins or more is great and he should be applauded, less than 24 is fireable… I have us winnning 25 and will be disappointing yet not fireable and we will be stuck in pergatory until Mike Woodson wants to leave -

I’m pretty certain we all want IU to succeed wildly. i think many of have seen enough from Woody to believe this won’t happen or at least not consistently with woody. Therefore, a decent, not horrible, not great year is the worst case scenario and in my opinion that is what I believe we will see. Top half of the bigten but not competing for nor winning it, maybe 13-7. Not winning the bigten tourney and getting a 4-8 seed in the tourney and winning 1 or 2 games. I believe we should do much better than that given the talent of our roster but I have no expectations they do better because of woody. if my prediction is correct it is worst case scenario because we didn’t accomplish much and yet won’t be fired. -

Not sure I would say he wins with top talent either. He had one of the best players in all of college basketball and a first round draft pick point guard complemented by a senior led supporting cast and didn’t win the bigten and didn’t win the bigten tourney and won 1 game in the round of 64. -

Woodson has a lot of good players, they need a good coach. The talent is there and he brought in everyone of them so hopefully his approach with them is the right one and can get them to play well together. i think many of us have our concerns he will do that. If Painter had our players they would be picked to win the bigten and top 5 in the country. Coaches and media don’t have the same level of respect nor expectations for a Woodson coached team -

Maybe we should look at getting Luke Murray as our head coach?
