Losing isn’t a reason to fire a coach? That’s usually the #1 reason coaches get fired. Wining/losing isn’t emotional, they are facts and the facts suggest Woodson isn’t good at his job. Anywhere else in the world other than Indiana which has an impeccable process, people get fired when they aren’t good at their jobs.

I think you are right but he isn’t 70 years old and used to doing his recruiting and roster management the same way for 40 years like some of the recent coaches that have called it quits over the current state of the game. He’s still young and the college game is getting closer and closer to the nba in a lot of ways so it’s not quite the jump for him

I agree, hard to judge someone in this instance. similarly, I worked for a company that I found was not paying vendors, not paying staff bonuses and was in major debt despite sharing otherwise and continuing to bring on more promises and debt. I felt icky but I have a family and needed that pay check so I stuck around for almost a year while I looked for a way out

That was an all-in Indiana number for NIL, not just football. Basketball alone took almost half of that. as you and Stu noted, football NIL is climbing for next year. Cig will be able to offer a lot of money moving forward

He’s earned any uptick in funding he gets but I don’t think his mere hiring drive much of an uptick, meaning he didn’t have a ton more to work with than Allen had for this season. I think the comments here were about immediate NIL for the next coach and that potentially going down. If the new coach comes in and wins 30 games in his first season, I have no doubt the NIL budget would climb but I question a new coach coming in and immediately getting more than what Woodson got.
