  1. do you honestly think IU would hold Binghamton to 33 or less? I don't think so, so not sure why his point is irrelevant
  2. Brad Stevens Dane Fife Calbert Cheaney A big man coach - this one is tough Feel like having a big man coach that can recruit bigs and teach them is huge. This staff could recruit, teach each position, offense and defense and command the respect of the players
  3. i sure hope not. If we don't make the tournament there is no lifeline for him. He should leave on his own for his own sake. Not a good feeling to carry with you everywhere you go
  4. This is an interesting conversation. These are dark times for this program, where the vast majority are upset or disappointed. There hasn't been anything for us all to get excited about very often. The biggest events surrounding our team have been violations, dismissals and losses to bad teams. If not discussing those bad things, why come here at all? If we don't discuss those things then we have completely given up ourselves. The problem is that some see this as repeating ourselves over and over but these events keep repeating themselves. Can we only get upset about one dismissal a season? Or one violation or one loss? I've never attacked anyone on here but could probably be labeled as someone that repeats himself. I don't want to drive others away. Your damned if you do, damned if you don't. If all the folks that come here and repeat themselves left this would be a lonely forum. If we are here, some will be turned off by it. Only solution I see is CTC or the school making moves to improve the program
  5. If Yogi is so toxic then why is Crean still starting him when he is going to get him fired? Start Robert Johnson over him and set the tone
  6. idk, this doesn't jive well with me at all. Crean needs to do a better job of evaluating players and monitoring their red flags. Nobody would have cared if we didn't get Yogi, an instate all American if he landed DSR, Nick Moore, Gary Harris, Dunham and the list goes on. There is a ton of talent in Indiana and across the country that he should be able to reject the kids that don't play defense and have personality and behavioral issues. He chooses these kids as much as they choose Indiana. These kids that aren't buying in are his fault
  7. you could put Sampson or Davis in that meme and I would like it more
  8. Yogi is playing himself out of the d-league draft right now
  9. i don't think you understand what is happening here. When you come to a school, you assume that the coach has put the right pieces around you to compliment each other to build a well rounded team. You also expect for the coach to prepare you for each game and the season. Yes, each player needs to work hard and buy in, but if the team is flawed, the reaching is flawed and the game plan is flawed, you are essentially f'd
  10. Any good coach could get 25 wins out of this team; Crean won't sniff that and for that I feel bad for the kids. They are being led by someone that has no business being the leader of Indiana basketball
  11. they are handicapped by their coach
  12. you know things have really turned for the worse when Rebel comes back to the board to voice his displeasure
  13. that was me. Still think it is realistic and the most civilized way to show our distaste
  14. Have a feeling we will look terrible. They have been run to death lately with the 3 games in 3 days, travel and marathon practices and they are likely looking past tonight to Wednesdays matchup with Duke
  15. your forgetting it's on the road. How many big road wins does Crean have? Can probably count them on one hand
  16. i agree a bit but I think there are some important details that you are missing here. Crean had the support of 90% of the fan base but that waned as the rebuild took 4 years and he proved in his first 3 years of losing that he was flawed as a coach. He showed that he wouldn't adjust his style to the players on his rosters abilities. He showed that he couldn't teach defense, that he couldn't teach players how to inbound the ball, he showed that his substitution patterns made no sense, he showed that he couldn't draw up a winning play, he showed that his program was a revolving door... The list goes on. So, by the time he had a winning team in year 4, he had lost an additional 20% that had zero faith he was the right guy. Those 20-30% he lost were loud even when we were winning in those two years and kept telling the rest of us that he was a flawed coach. Then that group left and we were back in a rebuild again where his flaws were back on full display, his program was still a revolving door and now his players were getting arrested. Those 20-30% said I told you so and over the past 2.5 seasons we have watched those 20-30% grow to what I would guess is close to 75%. He had the vast majority of support in the beginning and lost it over time due to his own deficiencies. I don't believe for one second that if he had continued the success of 11/12, with 12/13 and then never regressed again with four sweet 16s in a row or better would many care about his clapping or tan or other bs. This isn't about IU fans, it's about him as a coach and he has proven over his long coaching tenure that he is good, not even close to great and that is not what we expect at IU.
  17. i would be ecstatic about the win but it wouldn't change my opinion of Crean. A win over Duke is exiting but we have had other big wins in Crean's tenure. It's not the lack of big wins in the regular season, it's the chronic losses to Northwestern and no tourney success and the end of year slide that always happens that is the problem
  18. you are thinking immediately I believe, I am talking longterm. If per say, Miller came, that wouldn't get 100% of the fanbase jazzed immediately but if he took us to a final 4 in the first few years and showed an ability to build a program and win consistently, he would have the support no doubt
  19. apparently he wanted it when we hired Sampson but we passed. Not sure if he still would or if his health would allow as a few people have stated but he would be an upgrade
  20. a winning coach is the only coach that will make this fanbase happy. His name doesn't have to be Stevens
  21. Bad time to throw this name out as he isn't having a great year but Thad Matta would likely come and would be a huge upgrade. Before you bash, take a look at his accolades, very impressive
  22. yep, yogi and Bryant to name two
  23. thats likely. The question is, what does turned around mean? Most fans have fairly high expectations and standards, does the administration?
  24. Unfortunately some like Cuban are Crean fans, or at least was verbally supportive about a year ago when people were bitching. Have given the boycott scenario some thought and while might be difficult to arrange, I think the most effective scenario would be to arrange a home game where all that want change, wait outside/in hallways for the first 5 minutes and then go in together and sit down. I think it would speak volumes but would show that fans care and care for the team and university but want change. If tipoff at a home game against PU has a few hundred people in their seats, there would be no denying the fans discontent
  25. I don't think anyone that donates less than 7 figures voice will be loud enough to be heard.
