  1. will need his size and versatility. He is top 3 on my list
  2. davis would be great but based on what we will be losing next year, we need 3+ Davis level recruits
  3. he will land one top recruit, 1 decent recruit and 3-4 projects... My prediction
  4. Must have gone well if he is adding new schools to the list! Getting super excited about this one!!! Vbg
  5. Yet we have guaranteed starting roles and can't fill them
  6. Has Crean ever had success with in-homes? I feel like we have heard of quite a few flops
  7. gotcha. Was also referring to the comment about being top 20 every year not being good enough and I was saying we aren't even that.
  8. you can be hopeful for Crean and IU without making backhanded comments towards posters that are not so excited about where we are headed.
  9. No, this is Crean's 8th year, never gotten passed the sweet16 and certainly has not been a consistent top 20 team. Can't just be a threat but never fulfill it
  10. i hate it that reality is negative or disloyal. I am anything but disloyal, just refuse to except this. This is not the IU I grew to love and nervous that it or a brand of IU that is exciting or promising is gone. Felt it for 75% of 1 season in the Crean era, that's not enough in 7+ seasons
  11. you are stuck in something... Just not sure what it is. Where are you getting this 30-50 range happiness example and talk of after 7 seasons finally going after kids who want to be here bologna? We aren't even sniffing the 30-50 range right now and aren't getting kids that want to be here either if we are being truly honest with ourselves. Neither of of 16' recruits are top 30-50 and one of them isn't even probably top 300-500 and neither did or would choose IU first. One was recruited by IU and chose Pitt over IU and the other is a Duke fan that had no other high D-1 offers. Spin spin spin. This class needs some top talent and less excuses or we are going to end up putrid again in 16/17' period
  12. if we didn't already take Gelon, I would be all for this. Seems like a solid back up point that can even out classes. Problem is I/people don't trust Crean to go out and finish up this class with the pieces we need. Time will tell
  13. It's still early but if we don't land a top point guard in this class then I will be baffled. We have a starting point guard job open to sell at a blue blood program
  14. The good news is we can still recruit a stud pg and he won't be worried about playing time. If we land a stud pg then we have a solid first and second stringer. If he ends up being our first stringer we might be in trouble
  15. No offense.[/quote]no, you are stating your opinion and stirring the pot
  16. I like the program that Wisconsin had become over the last decade. I don't believe that IU can ever be a program like Wisconsin under Crean. That would involve building a program and I don't think Crean knows how to do that, he has yet to prove that he can produce a consistent, product year in and year out. Wisconsin had done that with good recruiting and great coaching. Bringing in kids like Gelon and never hearing a thing about them for two years, graduating an all-bigten kid and having Gelon step in as upperclassmen and never miss a beat. Crean needs top talent to be good, which means he needs to bring in 3 to 4 starter level players in '16 or he/IU will be bad again next year. He needs '16 to be a reload class or we're screwed.
  17. so you would be so excited to land top talent you would have an aneurysm but it would only be that cool if we did it once. Right? If we got top talent every year you would be pissed, right?
  18. have you met a UK fan? I think they are feeling pretty good about their situation
  19. yeah, he only played starter minutes and averaged 10ppg as freshmen on a good Wisconsin team.
  20. well I hope Gelon doesn't get Creaned in his final year of eligibility
  21. i think it was without question rushed. Early, first commit, first visit, 1 month into the recruitment. Crean saw Gelon play for the first time 1 month ago. Not saying he won't be good, but it was certainly rushed
  22. i hope we can get some immediate contributors in this class that are proud to wear the candy stripes
  23. yes, but most wouldn't pick up a role player when you don't have the play makers first. It's like building a football team, you build it from the inside out
  24. very true, it can work both ways. I would prefer it the other way, but it's all strategy, Crean just needs to play it right now
  25. i agree mostly. Unfortunately buzz, momentum does matter a little bit. If we signed a 5 star point guard first, it would be a good selling point to bigs etc and would show recruits, here is who you will be playing with. Goes a long way
