It wasn’t useless, fake effort like we see from IU. Any movement we see is useless, going through the motions vs being intentional
-
I wouldn’t be opposed to Stevens but his decision to leave college for the nba and then his decision to leave coaching for a management role tells me he isn’t sold on being a college coach and we need someone that is all in, 100%, willlijg to go to work in the dark and come home in the dark like Cig
-
No, based on what she has said, Dolson doesn’t have the authority to make hires. The Cig hire was a stakeholder decision, not his.
-
Can we get a handwriting expert to compare personal accounts writing to that of “Tyme “?
-
See above. You are uniquely out of touch
-
That is not true at all. My father worked in the athletic department at a university for 30 years and that was not the case there and in speaking to him that is not the case most places. He too is not shocked to hear IU has no accountability which is what happens when nobody in particular is appointed to make the final decision.
-
Consult.. yes, of course. But the buck should stop with the AD as is the case at most schools. He/she/they don’t have to get anyone’s approval. Hearing people’s opinions is great, that’s called info gathering
-
Once again you are proving that he has to go. If we paid top dollar for these mercenaries, that is a fact, and it isn’t a top 10 roster than what the f? We paid top dollar for a not top 10 roster? That is incompetence and stupidity at a minimum
-
Maybe you just aren’t doing a good job of explaining the layers of incompetence at IU. Nobody said Dolson should make all of his coaching hiring and firings in a vacuum. He should consult with others but at the end of the day, make the decision without others interfering. That is common practice for most hirings - the final decision has to be with a person, not group think.
-
Who cares who stays and who goes? They can all leave now if they want. What IU football, Louisville basketball and the list goes on proves is that you can turn around a program over night with the right coaches and players that fit.
-
You continue to explain why the fans are so pissed and dumbfounded with the level of stupidity. The fact that you and the rest of the fanbase cannot name one assistant that can earn the players respect and motivate them to play hard is bananas. How the f did we get here? Wait, I know.
-
This needs to be restated as Duke and UNC have had 10x the recent success that IU has. Seems there is a formula that works and it isn’t what IU is doing. Hiring by stakeholders/committee etc doesn’t work. We’re the poster child for that
-
You are completely missing everything and thus why I believe whole heartedly that you do work for IU. Woodson will not get things going and that has been evident to anyone with a pulse. This goes back to the start of his tenure and only recently the Bahamas. When you don’t do the things you need to do to be great every day you will not succeed. Perfect practice makes perfect and he has gone about things in a half assed lazy, entitled manner from jump. That is never a recipe for success and it’s not a wait and see, it’s done and has been, we all just have to wait until the idiots in control say so. find me one IU fan that is stoked for IU Baskebtall, one… Stakeholders will notice when the fans stop showing up, it’s coming
-
Let’s hop over to the FIRE DOLSON thread if true and get that humming. A team with this much talent and payroll should never be down by 38 points to a team coming off life support, period.
-
I agree. The Bahamas was the only real test (very weak non-conference slate) and we looked horrendous. This is a team of veteran, all-conference players and they got run off the court. The recipe is faulty no matter how many times you try to rebake it
-
The apologists bought him the extra year. That radical 10% was enough support for the administration to say, let’s keep him and give him a raise. had we had 100% solidarity he would have already been gone. Now we get to sit through another miserable season while that 10% finally comes around to seeing what the rest of us have known for a long time
-
Louisville just got a new coach and 13 new players that are all buying in and complement each other. i am not worried in the slightest about retaining players that don’t give 100% and don’t complement each others skill sets
-
He just has to sack up and do it. I don’t think he needs Quinn’s approval does he? Quinn is on his way out anyway so pissing him off has little to no consequences
-
Fair to think what you will but it has been Woody that has been an entitled, lazy narcissist that is unwilling to learn/change and we are all paying the price. at least he gets to rake in MILLIONS which is absurd for what he brings to the table. It’s highway robbery

Poor roster construction once again. he bought players, not a team that complements each other. There is no cohesion whatsoever. playing a giant, plodding, slow, unathletic lineup is going to be the death of us. Every time we played small we hung in there but what do I know, I’m not a true fan -

That’s why the Crean years kept me interested… we could beat a top 10 team on any given opportunity. Of course we would follow that up with a drumming by Penn State but still. -

Quit playing 3 bigs..: that would be a start. Mbako and Reneau are both 4s in college. play Rice, Leal, Galloway, Reneau and Ballo. Carlyle Tucker and Mgbako can sub in early. just rotate those 8. Whatever will create more spacing and movement.
