Yeah, that could be it, too. When I learned what attorneys really are involved with...I wondered why in the heck would anyone really want to do that for a living or calling. Handling other people's legal problems...they have to be kidding me. But, then again, these are youngish people playing basketball and growing up. My father-in-law would always say..."They are young. What do they know?" He was joking...and not joking.

Lots of people may tend to oversimplify all of the related issues to unionization. Categorization of them vs. us is not the right way to look at this. I am not saying anyone on this site is doing that. It does come down to how we see an organization controlling and not respecting the workers vs. large amounts of dollars being centralized in order to do large investments and 'great' works and the resultant will to power (ie controlling others). What is really important is to listen with respect to what the others are saying. I am not saying to agree. Just try to understand their perspective. Why are they saying and doing something differently? What is the real reason? It may not even be what they are saying. They just may be...hurting, frustrated or struggling with coping. The answer usually is to reach out and truly partner. We are in this together.

I finally figured it out. Indiana University men's basketball players years ago voted to unionize. They sometimes go on strike during games. They went on strike back when our head coach was making impermissible calls and contact and Dan D became acting HC. They went on strike by not playing defense for years with Crean. Need I explain the Archie years? They went on strike this season at Auburn.... /snark Just like Dartmouth: A first in college sports: Dartmouth men's basketball votes to unionize : NPR

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

I remember when Xavier got injured...again and again. I remember when Yogi Ferrel got injured...bell rung... I remember when Khristian Lander... Eric Gordon...Landon Turner...Scott May... I blame the IU Medical Center for all of the IU losses. I suppose that now I will have to run for Doctor... -

I am thrilled that IU won on the road in the Big Ten. Period. Mike Woodson was one hell of a ball player at IU. He has given his all to coach at IU and to help. I am not happy about the losses. I'm sure that he is not either. Time has come today Young hearts can go their way Can't put it off another day They think we don't listen anyway Time has come today - Chambers Brothers -
Prediction League RESULTS Thread
Dave from Dayton replied to Str8Hoosiers's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Well, I actually predicted a win early on. But second guessed the team. Thought seriously about changing my prediction to a loss. Actually posted that I thought they would lose. But didn't change it on the prediction thread. Very seldom do I change. When I do, I am proved wrong. Tip of the hat to Xavier for playing in a complementary role. Tip of the hat to the team. Ware had to be under the weather the first half. The second half was out freaking standing! Road win in the Big Ten. Take that to the bank. Win out, guys! -
I reserve the right to change my prediction early in the game. Especially if Xavier loses the ball 3 times in the first 10 minutes; Reneau gets his 3 fouls in the same time; Woody stares at someone; Galloway runs like his hair is on fire and goes out the exit after lofting an attempt that lands in the 3rd row; Mgbako does a triple spin sky slam that shatters the glass; Woody stares at someone; Cupps doesn't get the ball across the timeline 3 times in a row; Woody stares at someone; that assistant coach sleeps for 3 minutes but no one can tell if and when he wakes; IU goes into a zone on defense but it's not what you think; Woody...well... We have two open houses that we are going to consider starting at 2... And it sure is nice out.

Got a choice: Wild Turkey 101; Elijah Craig Small Batch; New Riff; Jefferson's Ocean very small batch... saving the last for a special...well...what time is it? GMT? -
Shhhh... Do you want to know a secret? Do you promise not to tell.... There might be a basketball game on today between IU and MD. I'm here to get fans fired up. Jump up and shout now! I could tell a pun about German sausages. But they are the wurst. I tried to crash an Abstinence Party. But nobody came. The Apple Store got robbed at the mall. Police are looking for iWitnesses. Cray Computing is working on a super-computer cluster that will enable doctors to simulate and study mental illnesses. It's called Cray Cray. IU is on a roll...wins on the road. Look out Big Ten Tourney and the NCAAT invite is guaranteed. Hey, Nurse Rachet won't let us watch the game!

Hoosiers 73 Derps 69 Derps are good defensively, get to the line and rebound well. IU needs to hang on to the ball, not foul, play decent defense for the whole game, get loose balls...and get assists...lots of them...says Mr. Obvious. MD has a worse 3-point shooting percentage and points scored than IU. Hope that does not change...

NWG shows how to do it. One has to post a comment that is 2,000 words long. But could have been summarized to 10 words.
